    Sales Executive

    Job description

    Purpose of the Role:

    Tdrive profitable sales growth through overall management of the Vector Sales Team – consisting of sales, merchandising and call centre staff – focused on selling across all the company’s principals and customers.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Valid Code EB drivers’ license
    • A minimum of a relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with a postgraduate or master’s degree highly advantageous.
    • A minimum of 10 years of successful sales management experience at a senior/executive level within the FMCG sales industry.
    • Track record of success working with customers senior executives.

    Key Accountabilities:

    • Strategic Operations Planning
      • Participate in the strategic decision making processes of the organization as a member of the executive management team.
      • Develop the strategic direction for Vector Sales Solutions and drive the implementation and achievement of the set strategy.
      • Develop and maintain an appropriate Vector Sales Solution and call centre structure that supports the agreed strategy and meets the changing/evolving needs of the organisation.
      • Manage and develop strategic relationships with principals and customers.
    • Strategy Execution
      • Work in with the Vector MD tcreate a national sales strategy, based on a 3 t5 year view of requirements.
      • Determine operational capacity required across both the medium and the long term and plan required resourcing and technology requirements accordingly.
      • Work with national cross-functional management teams tensure delivery of an integrated supply chain benefit.
      • Suggest improvements tthe annual functional strategic plan and manage the co-creation of VSS’s contribution tthe plan.
    • Operational Planning
      • Focus management towards the goal of yielding profitable revenue growth for the company.
      • Develop and maintain strategic sales relationships and alliances with partners tdevelop sales opportunities.
      • Coordinate the development of sales promotions and lead generation activities.
      • Maximize route tmarket opportunities and optimize shelf health, increase sales, grow market share and ensuring brand activation.
      • Manage and incentivize the national sales force efficiencies through the implementation of a scorecard system.
      • Manage national field sales activities relating tstrategic data collection and market intelligence.
      • Develop the strategy with senior sales managers for operational standards in:
      • Effective sales administration

    • Sales Innovation
      • Identify opportunities for the appropriate and cost-effective investment of resources within the operation.
      • Identify and research emerging cutting edge sales and call centre practices, systems, equipment and technologies tbe introduced within the company,
      • Keep current with trends and issues in the industry, including current industry best practices and innovations.
      • Review and approve major contracts for Vector Sales Solution/Call Centre services and equipment.
    • Cost and Budget Management
      • Develop the annual operating and capital budgets for the Vector Sales Solution and Call Centre operations.
      • Approve, coordinate and control all projects related tthese operations.
      • Evaluate operational alternatives, perform appropriate cost benefit analysis and implement solutions that maximize effectiveness and minimize costs.
    • Leadership
      • Deliver on succession plans and training tenable the development of a future generation of leaders and specialists.
      • Drives Employment Equity within the sales team tensure that diversity is achieved and statutory targets are met.
      • Conducts regular meetings and ensures that records are kept and shared across the team and actioned.
      • Manage overall employee relations climate with sales and ensure corrective action is taken.
      • Managing the recruitment and selection of staff in conjunction with HR.

    Sourcing Manager

    Job description

    Purpose of the Role:

    To strategically source, negotiate, manage and evaluate Group contracts within the Ingredients category, ensuring that business needs are met and the best value is negotiated for and received by the Group.
    To drive increased contract coverage and spend across the Group within the category and play a key role from strategic project support to strategic procurement programme implementation across the Group.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Degree in commerce, management, supply chain management or a related field.
    • Minimum of 8 years’ progressive experience within a sourcing or purchasing and commercial management environment
    • Ingredients category knowledge, with specific reference to food ingredients experience would be an added advantage.
    • Demonstrated success in developing and fostering relationships with suppliers while driving lower costs, superior performance and continuous improvement, particularly within the operations category.
    • Purchasing experience within an FMCG environment would be advantageous.
    • Valid Code EB drivers' license.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Strategic Sourcing and Category Management:
      • Work with cross-functional senior managers to develop and institutionalize a 1-3 year category sourcing and vendor management strategy and translate this into action items for the category team.
      • Analyse industry trends and evolving technology to proactively identify supply base issues to minimize risk, protect continuity of supply and exploit emerging opportunities
      • Identify strategic suppliers and partners for solutions, products and services.
      • Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures.
      • Assess and report on the specific category and contract spend
      • Conduct regular total cost analyses across the category and track performance results in a continuous cycle
      • Manage and measure real savings and the drivers of savings / cost changes for the category
      • Drive procurement behaviour across the Group.
    • Operational Management
      • Proactively drive regular engagement with the Business regarding its immediate and longer-term category procurement requirements and the extent to which these are being met.
      • Provide national oversight of category inventory management and buying across the Group.
      • Develop best practice processes and work with Finance and IT to enhance the ERP set-up
      • Ensure appropriate legal and ethical principles are applied in all supplier interactions.
      • Resolve vendor or contractor grievances and claims against suppliers.
    • Contract and Tender Management
      • Participate in the development of specifications for equipment, products, services or substitute materials.
      • Manage the tender process for category contracts and ensure legal requirements are met
      • Review and approve a comprehensive list of suppliers for bid processes developed by analyzing the industry
      • Participate in Group forums and drive decision-making in contracts
      • Monitor, measure and deliver on KPI’s in terms of category contracts and service level agreements.
      • Implement agreements / contracts by working with cross-functional stakeholders and suppliers to reach agreement on contract terms and conditions and manage the contracts and associated delivery and quality for a complete procurement cycle, ensuring commercial and cost saving benefits are realized
      • Technical Expertise
      • Advise on best practice to ensure continuous improvement in category contract sourcing and vendor management.
      • Constantly review category sourcing processes and performance against KPI’s
      • Provide specialised financial and technical product or service input for the determination of budgets and specifications for business units.
      • Influence decision-making and find solutions to procurement and contract-related challenges.
      • SAP Enablement
      • Ensure the SAP master data related to the procurement category is accurate and up to date.
      • Ensure all new catalogues and suppliers are promptly loaded on the SAP system.
      • Extract and analyse management information relating to spend patterns, vendor performance, database coverage etc. on a monthly basis to inform business decisions
    • SHEQ and Sustainability Management
      • Complete all necessary documentation relating to ISO 2200 and “Supplier Assessment towards Excellence”.
      • Support internal and external audit processes and provide any necessary documentation.
      • Ensure that the Business implements all legislative standards and action is taken in areas of non-compliance.
      • Ensure contracts and service level agreements support environmental and green practices.
      • Influence suppliers’ production processes, technology decisions and policies
      • Drive sustainability, risk, compliance and BBBEE objectives.
    • Financial Management
      • Input into CAPEX documentation taking into account return on investment and sustainability requirements.
      • Conduct price tracking and negotiate the best prices for category contracts.
      • Vendor Liaison and Performance Management
      • Renegotiate, renew and discontinue supplier contracts.
      • Identify strategic contracts and maintain key supplier relationships to leverage opportunities for the Group
      • Identify approaches to reduce or remove non-value added costs
      • Monitor and improve vendor performance and address quality issues
      • Drive the efficiencies of all vendors from an ordering, stock holding and delivery costs
      • Analyse market and delivery systems to assess present and future material availability.
    • Staff Management
      • Lead and develop staff within the context of the relevant labour legislation
      • Monitor, coach and support staff performance and activity and provide regular feedback
      • Manage and deliver on succession plans to enable the development of a future generation of leaders and specialists and ensure optimal turnover and retention levels are maintained.
      • Champion staff training and development through the utilisation of available training opportunities
      • Conduct regular performance appraisals with subordinates.
      • Establish sound staff and labour organising and communication structures and systems.

    QA Technologist

    Job description

    RCL FOODS is currently searching for an experienced QA Technologist to join our Consumer Division. This role will be based at our P1 plant in Hammarsdale and report directly to the SHEQ Manager.

     The main purpose of this role is to:

    • Monitor and measure products and process to ensure adequate quality control and customer satisfaction.
    • Ensure that the plant maintains GMP/GHP standards to make sure that the quality of the products is within customer /company specification.

    Minimum Requirements:          

    • Appropriate tertiary qualification, e.g. Food Tech Diploma, Bio Tech Diploma, Environmental Health, etc.
    • It would be preferable for candidates to have 3 – 5 years supervisory working experience as a QA officer/Technologist.
    • It would be preferable for candidates to have a Poultry Meat Examiners/Inspectors Certificate.
    • Able to work shifts if required

    Duties & Responsibilities:           

    • Operational management of quality control and quality assurance, ISO 22 000 and HACCP.
    • Participation in internal audits, external audits and customer visits as and when required.
    • Monitoring and investigating product complaints and returns.
    • Ensuring adherence to contractual, regulatory and internal specifications and requirements.
    • Liaising with plant management and Plant Base Cold Storage Management on any non-conforming issues.
    • Ensuring adherence to Rainbow’s Total Integrated Management System.
    • Staff management and development.
    • Reporting on compliance with company and regulatory standards, both Plant and Plant Based Cold Storage.
    • Conducting internal audits – both Plant and Plant Based Cold Storage.
    • Assistance during plant trials.
    • Assistance with any other projects approved by Management.
    • Participating in Product KPI audits as and when required at the plant and at Customer premises.
    • Action any initiatives as directed by QA Management.
    • Accurately prepare, analyze samples, calculate and record data according to set work instructions.
    • Ensure good housekeeping standards in the QC monitoring stations / Lab.
