    FreeStyle Libre Sales Representative - Pretoria with Country trips to Limpopo and North West

    What You’ll Do:

    • To ensure consistent sales growth and achieving of sales targets in assigned territories through the uptake of new sensing technology and other glucose monitoring devices.
    • Promoting of Abbott Diabetes Care (ADC) range of products to; GP's, endocrinologists, diabetologists, physicians, patients, hospitals, wholesalers, non-clinical buyers and/or pharmacy groups.
    • Responsible for the management of division (ADC) developed plans and strategies to gain market share and increase share of voice within the sector of responsibility.
    • Cultivate and maintain rapport with key opinion leaders and healthcare practitioners.
    • Support the business where necessary with buying groups, private hospitals and retail sector accounts.
    • Communicate and report effectively to all levels of ADC staff and management in a timely manner, this includes territory performance reports, stock registers and expense management.
    • Plan healthcare professional (HCP) training and educational events, round table discussions, and tearoom appointments.  Assemble and complete all relevant documentation, secure internal approvals and execute in a compliant and ethical manner in accordance with Abbott’s policies and procedures.
    • Organize and host monthly digital and face to face patient education sessions using Abbott's approved tools.
    • Educate HCPs and patients on the use of the FreeStyle Libre digital health tools and platforms available for the interpretation of glucose data and reports.
    • Obtain/place and follow up on any orders placed through any of the distribution channels available.
    • Attend congresses and cycle meetings as and when required – this includes events that might take place over a weekend.
    • Maintain territory and customer records daily via the approved Abbott tools.
    • Ensure coverage and frequency targets are met monthly.
    • Assess performance levels, identify root causes and develop/communicate action plans for continuous improvement.
    • Actively support the market access, customer service and marketing team.
    • Represent Abbott in a professional manner that aligns with company image, ensuring activities comply with legal and ethical standards.
    • Strict compliance to Abbott’s values, policies and safety procedures.
    • Identify new business opportunities.
    • Support base business (glucometer and strips) training/education of private hospitals, patients, and clinics when required.

    Required Qualifications

    • Relevant Medical and/or Commercial Tertiary qualification is essential.

    Preferred Experience: 

    • A minimum of 5 years medical sales experience ideally having dealt with endocrinologists, diabetologists, general practitioners, dieticians and diabetes nurse educators.
    • Candidate is expected to have good territory knowledge of the Pretoria area as well as knowledge of Limpopo and Northwest territories advantageous.
    • Extreamly strong technical skills required, this includes computer skills, online applications, creating and hosting of online events, interpretation and presenting of data on monthly basis.
    • Good communicator and self-motivated.  Comfortable presenting to large audiences
    • Flexibility to assist patients and HCPs after hours and over weekends.
    • Key account management experience.
    • Business planning acumen and ability.
    • Assertive, proactive and enthusiastic, willing to do extra and help where team members require assistance.

    Financial Controller- English Africa Cluster

    What You’ll Do:

    • Develop appropriate financial strategies and implement programs with administrative excellence in accordance with the company’s strategic objectives.
    • Drive development and preparation of solid financial business plans (and underlying analysis) to ensure EAC delivers its financial commitments.
    • Partner with Country Manager and support him in key decisions and ensure responsible investment decisions. Provide financial counsel and analysis for proposed strategic growth initiatives.
    • Ensure integrity of financial books and records, establish and maintain a robust & compliant internal control environment for EAC countries.
    • Monitor operations performance against financial plans/LBE and ensure that Area management is advised on exposure/opportunities issues.
    • Provide financial and strategic support to all EPD commercial departments at Affiliate, ensuring investments are being directed to most efficient and profitable activities.

    Financial Reporting & Analysis: 

    • Meet all financial reporting requirements within agreed upon timelines.  Provide timely, accurate and insightful analysis which provides senior management necessary information with which to address variances and develop corrective actions.

    Identify Business Issues:

    • Anticipate and identify business issues (including performance gaps, opportunities and emerging needs) for senior management and develop appropriate action plans to maximize business profitability and performance against key metrics.

    Financial Planning: 

    •  Develop financial plans/forecasts (including annual plans, LBE’s, etc) that are accurate, well written and professionally presented for senior management review, and properly supported and gaited.

    Financial Achievement:

    •  Achieve financial commitments including Plans, and LBE’s for both full year and quarterly periods while preventing surprises through financial planning excellence and staying close to the business.

    Apply Market/Operations Knowledge:

    Internal Controls:

    • Provide meaningful, transparent and value-added analysis and counsel to management (Country Manager) to influence and directly support decision-making and development of business strategies and tactics that maximize economic profitability and long-term success.

    Organization/Development: 

    •  Attract top talent, train and develop staff to meet best in class industry/professional standards, motivate and retain key talent, drive operational improvements to realize lean/efficient operations

    Accuracy: 

    • Ensure that figures and data provided to both local and Area team are accurate and in a timely matter to serve as support for business decision-making.
    • Working Capital Management 
    • Ensure that cash flow targets are achieved through robust plans and strategies.

    Required Qualifications

    • A BCOM Accounting or related is essential
    • Accreditation as CA(SA) OR CIMA OR Related is beneficial.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • 5 years’ experience in a Snr financial role having been responsible for FP&A., preferably in pharmaceuticals in the international environment with exposure to distributor operations.
    • Previous experience in an affiliate financial planning role.
    • Strong written and oral communication skills with ability and confidence to speak up and present to all levels of the management
    • IT skills: Excellent working knowledge of MS Excel and MS PowerPoint is required.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to complete assignments under tight deadlines.
    • Strong business sense and ability to grasp complex situations quickly and across functions (Marketing, Supply Chain, Sales)
    • Independent thinker with the ability to challenge the status quo with outstanding interpersonal skills.
    • Proven track record of academic and work-related success showing rapid upwards career movement.
    • Experience having managed a team is advantageous.
