    Planner / Scheduler - (1372)

    Profile Requirements:

    • Matric plus  Full N4 (4 subjects passed)
    • Active: N3 + 6 years’ experience as an artisan.
    • Trade Tested Artisan (various relevant disciplines)
    • A relevant National Diploma would be advantageous
    • MS Projects Training (or similar software) will be beneficial
    • Primavera P6 knowledge and application will be to your advantage

    Experience:

    • 5 years experience with SAP PM in a Heavy Industry
    • 5 years experience as an artisan
    • Any planning experience and training will be highly beneficial
    • Recognition for prior learning will be considered/given

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Develop and coordinate routine, ad-hoc and annual shutdown planning programmes for the maintenance requirements of the Mill
    • Adopt mechanisms to enhance the efficient performance in the planning and scheduling of maintenance work
    • Develop sustainable liaison with key stakeholders for the ease of scope collation, planning, scheduling and work progress feedback
    • Ensure the available internal resources and external resources are optimally spread to enhance labour efficiency
    • Coordinate the integration of task executors for the effective and efficient execution of multidisciplinary maintenance work
    • Ensure accurate reporting on performance of key indices for the management and improvement of Maintenance Planning and Plant Maintenance
    • Comply with requirement of the OSH Act as advocated by the Mill
    • Able to adapt to the varying demands of the required maintenance planning support by the plant
    • Support the sustainable realisation of the Asset Management Process outcomes of the Mill

    Mechanical Engineer - (1371)

    Profile Requirements:

    • Mechanical Engineering degree (B.Eng, BSc.Eng)
    • Minimum NQF level 8
    • Code 08 / EB license

    Experience:

    • A minimum of 5 years’ experience within the maintenance / engineering function in a heavy-industry environment – pulp and paper, petro-chem, steel processing, cement, etc.
    • A minimum of 2 years’ experience within the maintenance / engineering function in the pulp and paper industry.
    • Specific knowledge, and experience in, fibre circuits (plants) within the pulp and paper industry (chipping operations, pulp production, paper machines) would be of significant advantage to this role.
    • Experience in the management of the following core engineering processes:
    • Management of compliance to the Occupational Health & Safety Act, #85 of 1993.
    • People performance and development management.
    • Investment planning & Capex management for plants.
    • Project management and management of Continuous Improvement methodologies and roadmaps.
    • Management of, and development of, Key Performance Indicators, including measurements and reporting.
    • Shutdown management & controls.
    • Budgeting and cost management.

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Promotion of continuous improvement to mill safety via structured leadership engagements with operational teams.
    • Continuous improvement to asset care processes and systems within the mill – development and the routine review thereof.
    • Promotion of continuous improvement to the quality of maintenance execution, through engagement with mill maintenance execution teams, and appropriate improvement to quality systems and processes.
    • Development, and routine review of, effective maintenance strategies (plans) for applicable plants.
    • Effective management of the personal development of all engineering team members – ensuring engagement and high-performance within these teams.
    • Effective development and management of plant investment and Capital budgeting for applicable plants, realising sustainable improvement to plant performance, and optimal use of available funding.
    • Effective management and development of shutdown strategies for applicable plants, realising optimal strategies aligned with maintenance strategies and production objectives.
    • Effective management of non-CMMS actions and tasks within the engineering teams (RCFA tasks, etc.).
    • Effective management and development of Continuous Improvement roadmaps (‘Top6’ programs / roadmaps, etc.), realising sustainable improvement to reliability KPIs for applicable plants.
    • Direct support of applicable plants with operational risk, to ensure that these plants are well supported (from a daily basis) on the effective control of these risks.
    • Promotion of the principle of sound management of technical change in the applicable plants, via audits and awareness of change initiatives within these plants.
    • Setting the standards of acceptance to maintenance execution teams in terms of plant and equipment condition – defining ‘what good looks like’.
    • Support to the Mill Engineering Manager and plant Maintenance Managers in the management of plant shutdowns against the applicable processes, budgets, and plans, etc.
    • Compliance to the defined cost budgets (maintenance spend) for applicable owned cost-centres.
    • Compilation of owned budgets for human, time, and cost resourcing, as per routine process.
