    Manager: ORTIA Vault

    PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

    Manage the daily operations of the Rand Refinery Vault at OR Tambo International Airport, to ensure the secure storage and passage of all in bound and out bound valuable cargo.

    SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDED BUT NOT LIMITED TO

    • Coordinate transportation logistics by overseeing the receiving and dispatching of valuable cargo, ensuring effective operational planning with logistics partners for all inbound and outbound cargo at the Vault.
    • Support inbound and outbound logistics activities for valuable cargo at Germiston as needed.
    • Ensure efficient and compliant handling of valuable cargo operations.
    • Implement and enforce rigorous security protocols to protect valuable assets within the vault and the OR Tambo Airport area.
    • Ensure security protocols adhere to industry best practices and undergo regular reviews in collaboration with Rand Refinery's head of security.
    • Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders, clients, and service providers to foster collaboration and network development.
    • Maintain accurate records of client assets stored in the vault and conduct regular inventory checks for reconciliation.
    • Safely transport stakeholder and client goods internationally, enhancing the integrity of the Logistics chain.
    • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, including RR, POPIA, ACSA, SACAA, SADPMR, SARS - Customs and Excise, and company policies.
    • Support contract negotiations with stakeholders, counterparties, and PGM mines.
    • Oversee maintenance of the Vault building, its equipment, and associated motor vehicles.
    • Facilitate both external and internal audits.
    • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports while managing budgetary responsibilities.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • A Completed Matric qualification.
    • Diploma / Degree in Logistics or Supply Chain Management.
    • Must have at least acquired 5 years of experience in Logistics, with focus in Vault Coordination/ Management.

    KNOWLEDGE

    • Profound understanding of complete Logistics and Supply Chain operations.
    • Knowledge of gold (Au) manufacturing, logistics, and regulations pertaining to imports and exports.
    • Familiarity with relevant legislative requirements.
    • Understanding of SACAA (South African Civil Aviation Authority) guidelines.
    • Utilise advanced operational and customer service knowledge gained through education, experience, or on-the-job training.

    Operator - Smelter Smapling

    PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

    Ensure that there’s high quality, timely, consistent, representative sampling/ sub-sampling and sample preparation of material.

    SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDED BUT NOT LIMITED TO

    • Ensure full compliance to SHEQ policies.
    • Sampling of material within the required time frame in accordance with established SOPs.
    • Communicate operational information; production, equipment availability, SHEQ and general notices to peers and supervisors.
    • Continuously assess operational risks and implement approved corrective actions.
    • Compliance to security protocols.
    • Compliance to Metal Assurance policies.
    • Supporting SHEQ initiatives.
    • Compliance to IT policies and ERP (LIMS) systems.

    Draughtsperson

    PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

    • Assist with the reviewing of all drawings and ensure that the drawings are an accurate reflection of the Rand Refinery site. 

    SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDED BUT NOT LIMITED TO

    • To liaise with production and engineering personnel on suitable designs and equipment to ensure acceptance of deseeign and the successful implementation of the project on an agreed time frame.
    • Ensuring alignment of existing drawings in the system to all plant and equipment on site inclusive of PIDs, general layout, design, electrical, instrumentation and any other drawings required.
    • Recording and maintaining municipal approval for alterations.
    • Consultation with other services providers and consultants in relation to approved drawings for construction.  
    • Printing and plotting of various documents. 
    • Compile drawing register with assistance from the Drawing Office Coordinator that was already checked and confirmed to be accurate.
    • To ensure that drawing offices practices are adhered to by maintaining and ensuring compliance to standards and regulations whenever changes are made. 
    • Capturing all OEM drawings of new equipment by incorporating the new equipment including services and overall drawings based on the new equipment installed on site. 
    • Custodian of drawings for purchasing of service & maintenance items. 

    Requirements

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • A completed Matric qualification.
    • Preference will be given to candidates with a National Diploma in the Engineering field of study.
    • More than 5 years of practical draughting experience on Autodesk packages.

    SKILLS/ COMPETENCIES

    • Competent in the following computer packages/ applications:
    • Microsoft Office;
    • AutoCAD 2D and 3D;
    • Inventor;
    • Plant 3D - setting up pipe standards;
    • Advanced steel; and
    • Conversion from point cloud data to models.
    • Maintenance of drawing management system (drawing register, drawing numbering system, revisions and transmittals). 
    • Must be proficient in compiling drawings related to civil, structural, mechanical, piping, and E&CI. 
    • Fully proficient with Drawing Office standards.

    Foreman: Mechanical

    PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

    Design and manage the implementation of planned maintenance programs for specific business unit, in line with optimising plant OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness). 

    SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDED BUT NOT LIMITED TO

    • Ensure that all mechanical installations are maintained through a structured plant maintenance system and that plant reliability is optimised – eliminate equipment downtime and put continuity plans in place.
    • Liaise with other Mechanical Foremen within Rand Refinery, to ensure consistency in formulation and implementation of governance processes within the Mechanical field.
    • Service providers’ control and management – setting up contracts, service level agreements and arranging for execution of routine maintenance.
    • Manage resources for optimal performance.
    • Management of maintenance work order process and ensuring that weekly and monthly KPIs are met. Assists in cost reduction initiatives by reducing waste and improving efficiencies.
    • Conducting 3-monthly performance reviews of sub-ordinates.
    • Maintain earthing and bonding on structures and equipment throughout the Smelter Business Unit.

    • Participate in Risk Assessments based on external and internal influences.

    Requirements

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • A completed Matric qualification.
    • Minimum N4 in Mechanical or Electromechanical Engineering.
    • Trade Test certificate (Fitter or Millwright).
    •  Minimum of 7 - 10 years of working experience in the Mechanical field. Or electro– mechanical field
    • Smelter experience is essential.
    • Must have at least served in a similar role for 3 - 5 years.

    SKILLS/ COMPETENCIES

    • Computer proficiency in the Microsoft package and SAP is essential.
    • Drive continuous improvement.
    • Have an ability to be a team player within the organisation.
    • Communicate to relevant people with regards to any asset care related data information.

    Artisan Fitter/ Millwright

    PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

    Improve plant reliability, increase equipment performance and minimise production downtime from unplanned equipment stoppages. 

    SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDED BUT NOT LIMITED TO

    • Execute planned maintenance within specified time and give feedback to the Electrical & Instrumentation Foreman.
    • Support the Shift Production teams, by promptly attending to any breakdowns within the shift, minimising production downtime.
    • Conduct your work within acceptable quality to improve plant availability, reliability and general housekeeping.
    • Manage all maintenance work orders issued to you on time to ensure that weekly and monthly KPIs are met.
    • Assists in cost reduction initiatives by reducing waste and improving efficiencies.
    • Part-take in the RCFA (Root-Cause and Failure-Analysis) as may be required.
    • Ensure proper management of works orders.
    • Complete your weekly SAP PM work orders on time and give feedback.
    • Participate in incident investigations as may be required.
    • Report any incidents to the supervisor and/or via the pink cards system.
    • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
    • Ensure that good housekeeping is maintained at all times while executing your duties.

    Requirements

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • A completed Matric qualification. 
    • Must have at least completed an N3 qualification in Electro - Mechanical Engineering.
    • Trade Test certificate.
    • A completed Matric qualification. 
    • 3 - 5 years of experience within a similar role.
    • Must have worked with medium voltage switching for at least 3 years.

    Cashbook Co-Ordinator

    PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

    Process all cash and bank resources appropriately, while ensuring that Rand Refinery’s accounting and financial position is accurate and correct.

    SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDED BUT NOT LIMITED TO

    • Preparation of cash and bank estimates daily in conjunction with Treasury operations.
    • Daily review of bank accounts for correctness and correct bank balances.
    • Daily completion of cash and bank actuals in line with bank statement entries.
    • Processing of replacement payments daily for both ZAR and USD mines.
    • Daily processing of bank entries on the financial operating system (SAP) .
    • Liaison with banks to clear and resolve outstanding and unprocessed payments.
    • Preparation of bank reconciliation.
    • Preparation of selected general ledger accounts.
    • Liaison with Treasury Dealers for investment of excess funds as well as recall of funds from call to fund bullion bank account.
    • Banking of cash receipts, processing of journals and duties as allocated by line manager from time to time.
    • Preparation of cash information for FRC report.

    Requirements

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • A completed Matric qualification.
    • Must be in possession of a Bookkeeping certificate.
    • Studying towards a relevant BCom Degree will serve as an advantage.
    • Must have served in a relevant Finance position for at least 5 years, with focus on the Treasury function (i.e. Forex and cash management).

    SKILLS/ COMPETENCIES

    • Must be proficient in the following computer applications: Microsoft Office (Excel), SAP and LIMS.
    • Be able to converse with internal and external (i.e. relevant banks) customers.
    • Attention to detail - ability to do detailed work consistently.
    • Highly motivated and self-starter.
    • Resource management  -  ability to plan and use resources effectively.
