    Compilations Manager

    Your Role:

    • Prepare, review, and distribute accurate and timely financial statements.
    • Collaborate with internal teams, external auditors, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with accounting standards and financial reporting regulations.
    • Provide insights into our financial performance to help stakeholders make informed decisions.
    • Specialize in IFRS to ensure all financial statements and reports adhere to international standards.

    Minimum Requirements

    • BCom Accounting essential. BCom Accounting Honours preferred
    • Completed SAICA training contract
    • Minimum experience of 5-7 years in Financial Reporting
    • Compilation engagement experience
    • Independent Review experience
    • Full IFRS Drafting of financial statements for external auditors
    • Consolidation of financial statements
    • CaseWare Working Papers – Design Mode excellent experience/certification training
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Financial Statement Preparation and Consolidations:

    • Preparing accurate financial statements using Caseware Working Papers, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in compliance with IFRS and IFRS for SMEs.

    Data Gathering:

    • Collecting and consolidating financial data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

    Account Reconciliation:

    • Verifying that financial data, transactions, and records are complete, consistent, and error-free through account reconciliation.

    Compliance:

    • Ensuring financial reports adhere to accounting principles, standards ( IFRS, IFRS for SMEs), and regulatory requirements.

    Documentation:

    • Maintaining organized records of financial transactions, adjustments, and supporting documentation for audit and reference purposes.

    Financial Analysis:

    • Conducting basic financial analysis, calculating key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial ratios to assess the organization's financial health.

    Financial Reporting:

    • Generating reports for client management, providing insights into financial performance and aiding in strategic decision-making.

    Audit Support:

    • Assisting external auditors during audits by providing requested financial documentation, reconciliations, and explanations.

    Process Improvement:

    • Identifying opportunities to streamline financial reporting processes, improve efficiency, and enhance the accuracy of financial statements.

    Regulatory Changes:

    • Staying updated on changes in financial reporting regulations and standards, and implementing necessary adjustments.

    Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    • Collaborating with clients and various departments, including finance, accounting, legal, and tax, to gather relevant data and ensure accurate reporting.

    Communication:

    • Effectively communicating financial data and results to client management and external auditors.

    Quality Assurance:

    • Implementing quality control measures to minimize errors and discrepancies in financial reporting.

    Training and Development:

    • Staying updated on industry best practices and providing training and guidance to team members as needed.

    Assurance Manager (Small And Medium Enterprises)

    Job Advert Summary
    Moore Cape Town is looking for an Assurance Manager to manage the Independent Review engagements in their Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) department on a permanent basis from 1 August 2024. The successful candidate will have at least two years management experience, is adept at managing Independent Review engagements, can confidently lead a team, values high standards, is committed to quality, and can effectively manage client relationships.

    Minimum Requirements
    Experience and Skills Required:

    • 2 - 3 Years proven experience in a management position, demonstrating the ability to lead and inspire a team of trainees to achieve objectives
    • Demonstrable record of managing a SME client portfolio with specific experience in: 
    • Independent Review engagements in terms of ISRE 2400
    • Compilation engagements in terms of ISRS 4410
    • Taxation for Companies and Trusts
    • Thorough knowledge of IFRS for SME’s and IAS Accounting Standards
    • Proficient in various accounting software and Microsoft Office
    • Have a good understanding of the Companies and Income Tax Acts
    • Working knowledge of CaseWare

    Educational Qualifications

    • BCom or B.Com Honours degree (accounting or financial accounting)
    • SAICA training contract completed
    • AGA(SA) or eligible to register as an AGA(SA)

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Main Purpose of Position:

    This is a full-time management role in the SME department leading and managing Independent Review engagements for a fast-growing client base.  Day-to-day activities will include coordinating with the client and team to ensure timely completion of engagements, provide value added advice to clients, and lead and train a team of trainee accountants.

    Position Overview:

    • Manage a team of SAIPA trainee accountants
    • Manage Independent Review engagements in terms of ISRE 2400 for a portfolio
    • Manage Compilation engagements in terms of ISRS 4410
    • Detailed review off financial statements in terms of IFRS for SME’s
    • Detailed review of taxation for Companies and Trusts
