    Safety Officer (267424)

    Job description

    What are the responsibilities for the role?

    • Provides comprehensive Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) consultations, support and training to locations
    • Understands and applies the major elements of government regulations standards and their implications on the facility
    • Understands and completes most regulatory reporting (Compensation for Occupational Injuries & Diseases Act)
    • Participates in presenting basic employee training in EH&S policy and procedures.
    • Participates in the investigation of incidents
    • Suggests solutions and improvements to EH&S issues/challenges
    • Performs important areas of standard professional level work that typically requires processing and interpreting, more complex, less clearly-defined issues
    • Refers semi-complex, unusual problems to others
    • Identifies and resolves readily identifiable, clearly-defined problems

    What do I need to Qualify for the Position?

    • Completed Degree / National Diploma in Safety Management / 2 weeks Safety Management course
    • Minimum 3 Years Relevant Experience
    • Typically 2-5 years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above.
    • Demonstrates a good grasp of knowledge and principles of field of specialization and applies through successful completion of assignments
    • Successfully applies knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of particular area of specialization
    • May provide general guidance or train lower level support staff
    • Intercultural
    • Primarily intra-organizational contacts and some external contacts

    Tasks / Roles And Responsibilities

    • Formally and publicly accept the role to provide visible, strong and active EHS leadership within the Business Unit, acting as a champion for Zero Harm, Sustainable Future and Wellbeing.
    • Environmental, Health and Safety
    • Develops, proposes and implements EHS processes and/or methods.
    • Plans and accomplishes roll out of EHS programs or projects, and monitors respective milestone in related organization.
    • Analyses and monitors adherence to EHS standards in assigned organizations, and prepares regular EHS reporting.
    • Analyzes and reports on changes in relevant EHS laws and regulations, and recommend changes for internal standards.
    • Contributes to internal and external EHS audits, in support of accountable Divisional manager.
    • Prepares regular external EHS reporting for official authorities, or for internal stakeholder.
    • Maintains operational contact to external authorities.
    • Trains employees and management.
    • Keeps abreast with all respective regulations and standards in regional or local law.
    • Attend the regularly scheduled EHS Committee meetings.
    • Provide assistance in the completion of risk assessments where required, and ensure that they are regularly reviewed.
    • Ensure accident, incident and Environmental waste statistics are compiled for reporting to the Head of EHS.
    • Ensure procedures exist in order that all contractors and visitors entering works premises are made aware of any EHS rules and any other specific requirements.
    • Ensure fire alarms are inspected, tested and maintained at regular intervals, and fire drills are undertaken at regular intervals with records maintained as to their effectiveness.
    • Coordinate at least two evacuation exercises per year to ensure that all staff becomes familiar with these procedures.
    • Ensure suitable, portable firefighting equipment is made available and that provision is made that such equipment is inspected and maintained on a regular basis.
    • Provide advice and guidance on the type and suitability of PPE issued appropriate to the risk assessment.
    • Conduct surveys and EHS audits (ISO 14001 and OSHAS 18001)as required to identify and minimise the risk to company and employees
    • Identify unsafe acts, conditions, and hazards, investigate root causes in accordance with the company procedures, identify and implement corrective and preventative actions and report to management
    • Supporting review of Incident Reports, Corrective and Preventive Action Plans on non- conformances that have or have the potential for a significant impact on the environment, on safety, on expenditures and/or on the public reputation of the facility.
    • Liaise with on site contractors to ensure their compliance with Company safety regulations and adherence to safety standards, including basic safety induction training.
    • Ensure that environment impacts and significant risks are identified and communicated.
    • Compile, maintain and store client / contractor safety files
    • Induction of visitors and contractors

    Quality

    • Conduct ISO 9001 internal audits on a regular basis to ensure compliance to system.
    • Administration of NCR's /NCC's and ensures it is properly closed-out and PA implemented.
    • Control and maintenance of system documents.
    • Ensure NCR statistics are compiled and updated for reporting to the Head of EHS.
    • Administration and coordination of Quality Meetings
    • Compilation of Data Books and QCP'S as required by Customers

    Knowledge

    • P.M. @ Siemens Processes
    • Corporate Compliance.
    • Legal Liability.
    • Knowledge of the ISO 9001, 14001 and OSHAS 18001 Standards.
    • Knowledge of the, Auditing of above standards and Environmental Law.

    Production Order Manager

    Job description

    What will I be responsible for?

    • Implements Order Management standards, procedures, process and ensures proper Order management operations for assigned organization plants and sites
    • Ensures implementation of defined Order Management policies and guidelines, and decides adoption of processes if necessary.
    • Sets targets, and plans and decides on budgets and allocation of resources.
    • Initiates process improvements and implements technical infrastructure.
    • Oversees order status, and planning and forecasts for logistics, and/or production and deliveries, and the adherence to respective time schedules.
    • Decides and determines critical schedules for orders in the value chain.
    • Initiates, maintains and improves systems to measure order operations performance and effectiveness of all planning operations.
    • Sets up and monitors projects to improve performance of order management.
    • Ensures effective cooperation with external parties, and involved internal management.
    • Responds to critical inquiries, as an escalation point of contact.
    • Leads a dedicated organization in Order Management Operations.

    What do I need to qualify?

    • 3-8 years relevant experience
    • A relevant degree or diploma in production or business management /technical qualification
