    Chemical Engineer Intern

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

    • Drive administration side of Site CII Projects
    • Support Process Engineer with New product development, where and if required.
    • Support Process Engineer in developing and updating of all Manufacturing documentation, FOI, PMI
    • Support Process Engineer with detailed planning and execution of CAPEX and OPEX projects
    • Support Process Engineer with Manufacturing support, Process and Quality failure investigations, technical support to Modifications, Risk assessments, etc
    • Be Actively involved with Process Engineering Manager in developing and implementing Process Safety management system for the company, which involves all 18 elements.

    WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE;

    • Bachelor’s Degree: Chemical Engineering
    • Exceptional communication skills (English)
    • Interpersonal skills
    • Lean Manufacturing knowledge
    • Value stream mapping knowledge

    Plant Manager

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

    • Responsible for all daily activities and operations in the respective plant.
    • In conjunction with the production planning section, prepare and manage production schedules. This includes all resources; material, components, facilities, labour and equipment.
    • Manage, monitor and report production against the Master Production Schedule and participate in risk mitigating actions. The Plant Manager must raise early warning of any risk related to delivery deadlines.
    • Set and manage the operational overheads and labour budget / forecast.
    • Control and monitor direct cost of manufacturing.
    • Provide inputs and motivations to the CAPEX budget.
    • Communicate, monitor and ensure compliance to all relevant legislation and SHEQ systems, standards & procedures.
    • Recommend, motivate and manage process and equipment changes via the official modification process and Engineering Change Proposal. Co-ordinate the plant modification initiatives.
    • Resolve plant down-time through risk evaluation and task prioritization with the engineering section.
    • Accountable for HR related problems, which cannot be resolved at supervisor level. Ensure that performance contracting is maintained as per HR procedures and deadlines.
    • Maintain discipline and comply with company policies, practices and procedures.
    • Support company vision and value system and ensure calibration throughout the team.

    WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE:

    • BSc. Degree/BTech qualification in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
    • At least 5 years’ experience in the Production/Manufacturing environment of which 2 years should have been in leading a team at Middle Management level.
    • Completed the product relevant Explosives Management Modules (Explosives Management Certificate presented by UNISA) would be advantageous.
    • Excellent problem solving abilities, good judgement and a decision maker.
    • Ability to communicate and operate at a Senior Level.
    • High level of integrity and confidentiality.
    • Must be prepared to work irregular hours.
    • Computer literacy, with good spreadsheet, Power Point presentation and ERP system knowledge.
    • Good interpersonal and public speaking skills.
    • Analytical thinker with good reasoning and problem-solving skills on multi-disciplinary projects.
    • Planning and prioritization of multiple tasks, organisational and administrative skills.
    • Proficient computer skills –MS Office, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, MS Project.
    • Self-starter with the ability to operate with minimum supervision
    • Ability to work precisely and methodically with minimum supervision.
    • Driven, confident, self-motivated and results orientated.

    Manufacturing Excellence Engineer

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

    • Execute specialist Value stream mapping of all manufacturing process within RDM
    • Use value engineering tools to analyse operation performance, identify and optimise best systems for continuous improvement of manufacturing execution and capacity utilisation
    • Reporting of current capacities and areas to be improved

    WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE:

    Qualification & Experience:

    • BSc Engineering in Industrial Engineering.
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the field of lean production/manufacturing.
    • Working knowledge of
    • Value Engineering;
    • Process Mapping;
    • Process Improvements engineering;
    • Continuous improvement;
    • TPM; and
    • World class manufacturing.
    • Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems is desirable.
    • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office for reporting purposes.

    Skills & Competencies:

    • Analytical Skills (experience in IT environment is a bonus);
    • Strong planning and administrative skills with highly organized approach;
    • Proven ability to effectively present information (report writing- and presentation skills)
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Internet).
    • Interpersonal skills and capability to interact with people at all levels.
    • Cope well with work pressures, apply efficient practices, and deliver completed work on time.
    • Attention to detail.
    • Strong Conceptualisation Skills.
    • Financial modelling of project / design impact.
