    Planning and Management Reporting Manager

    Purpose of the job

    To report on and analyse the performance of the Group for both external and internal stakeholders.

    The role is primarily responsible for:

    • Providing insightful financial analysis on an ongoing basis on key areas of the Group, enabling senior management to provide strategic decision support to the business.
    • Identifying opportunities and advise corrective actions or improvements where needed based on the financial analysis performed.
    • Preparing certain aspects of the CFO’s monthly presentations to the Ops Board.

    This area is continuously and proactively performing group financial analysis, developing forward looking views and delivering advancements through projects and initiatives and managing the external reporting requirements of the Group.

    Key Performance Areas

    • Perform internal analysis in key areas of the Group and assist business with developing business analytics capability working closely with the internal stakeholders and realizing the requirements of Group Finance for developing and implementing decision models based on the collation of multiple data sources and data flows, modelling techniques and finance data architecture;
    • Provide recommendations for efficiencies and prevention of financial risks in certain business areas
    • Preparation of and into the monthly CFO presentations

    Stakeholder Engagement

    • Support the Head of Insights & Group and Performance Reporting in relation to the research and presentation of outputs to relevant internal and external parties;
    • Engage with relevant Finance Business Partners to develop financial models
    • Engage with Senior Management on outcome of analytics and business models

    Investor Reporting & Performance Analyst

    Purpose of the job

    To report on and analyse the performance of the Group for both external and internal stakeholders.

    The role is primarily responsible for:

    • Drafting and coordination of the annual integrated report, management of investor communication and inquiries, peer analysis, writing of SENS announcements and trading updates (quarterly and/or as required) and assistance with the results presentations.

    This area is continuously and proactively performing group financial analysis, developing forward looking views and delivering advancements through projects and initiatives and managing the external reporting requirements of the Group.

    Key Performance Areas

    • Manage Investor Relations and all critical components thereof (see Stakeholder Engagement);
    • Proactively monitor and review analyst reports/ equity research reports as they are published to establish if the concerns and comments can be addressed through providing additional information in the IAR and / or results presentations;
    • Analyse, compare and communicate to all internal stakeholders, peer companies’ financial results as market information becomes available;
    • Project manage the compilation of the following documents for interim and year-end results:
    • Finance sections of the integrated annual report;
    • interim and year-end results commentary;
    • interim and year-end results presentations;
    • Draft commentary and results presentation for results releases and obtain sign-off thereof from Executive Management/Supervisory Board;
    • Proactively perform external competitor analysis and benchmarking

    Stakeholder Engagement

    • Support the Head of Insights & Group and Performance Reporting in relation to the research and presentation of outputs to relevant internal and external parties;
    • Support the Group Financial Controller with any trading updates and information for SENS publication;
    • Compile timeous responses to investor and analyst queries, as shared by the CFO;
    • Provide and deliver management information with regards to share price movements and market activity;
    • Ensure up-to-date information is available on TFG website;
    • Manage the clear, direct and timeous communication with investors/ analysts in order to maintain and enhance the relationships with investors;
    • Maintain investor relation contact database for invitees to TFG business events;
    • Maintain an excellent relationship with internal marketing team and external design partners for the development of all publications;
    • Ensure Executive management are informed around market related matters, competitor analysis and peer benchmarking.
    • Conduct interviews with Executive Management for input into the Integrated Annual Report as required.

    Tax Manager

    Requirements and Responsibilities:

    • The following sets out the requirements and skills for a Tax Manager: South Africa

    Requirements

    • Educational requirement: Qualified CA(SA) with a post graduate qualification in Tax.
    • Prior experience or demonstrated proficiency with leading a Tax team, holding at least 5 years of experience, consultancy background and specialising in VAT.
    • Proven advisory and compliance experience across direct tax, indirect tax, international tax and transfer pricing.
    • Strong analytical skills and a high attention to detail.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with different stakeholders.

    Key responsibilities

    Tax Policy, Compliance, Process and Systems management

    • Develop and design tax policies and guidelines for the Group.
    • Taxes covered: VAT, income tax, withholding taxes (dividends and royalties), carbon tax, transfer pricing, capital gains tax and employees’ tax.
    • Update and amend policies as per tax amendments.
    • Update all relevant tax and financial systems (e.g., SAP) as required.
    • If required, ensure that the supporting systems are updated /designed to support changes to policy.
    • Advise and communicate all tax and policy changes to all relevant stakeholders.
    • Evaluate and advise all relevant stakeholders of any tax associated risks and exposure that could impact the Group.
    • Process all tax returns relevant to the operations serviced within the Group.
    • Ensure the adherence to all returns and payments (e.g., VAT, Corporate tax, etc.).
    • Manage all external stakeholders and their interests in all tax related matters for the Group.
    • Manage all reporting for tax within the Group.
    • Manage activities related to transfer pricing. Conducting regular internal review of transfer pricing policies in accordance with the latest tax regulation developments. Providing advice on transfer pricing implications of new business initiatives. Supporting transfer pricing audits, including responding to tax authorities on matters or queries relating to transfer pricing. Handling transfer pricing analysis and reporting.
    • Ensure the efficient handling and resolution of audit queries.
    • Identifies tax risks and issues and proposes solutions.
    • Determine tax savings and recommend strategies to improve profits.
    • Perform all related tax accounting functions:
    • Perform tax related ledger reconciliations and accounts maintenance as necessary.
    • Prepare the group consolidation tax note and tax rate reconciliation.
    • Budgeting and forecasting.
    • Manage the current and deferred tax processes.
    • Account for all tax (direct and indirect) provisions.
    • Prepare tax returns, payments, necessary paperwork and reports in respect of corporate income tax for group companies.

    Support Treasury activities

    • Administer all tax requirements/returns for cash payments.
    • Perform the intercompany Loans and Deposits process to ensure tax compliance.

    Leadership

    • Oversee talent management for direct reports in terms of recruitment, retention and development.
    • Oversee the performance management and development of all shared service staff.
    • Ensure adherence to shared service performance management requirements, ensuring continuous performance feedback to and development of direct reports.
    • Ensure that all staff are motivated, developed, and appraised so that individual and collective performance meets the needs of the customers.

    Stakeholder Relationships

    • Manage relationship with Finance in business, Finance CoE’s and the Finance Shared Services.
    • Ensure the engagement with relevant internal and external stakeholders within TFG.
    • Manage the relationship with relevant tax authorities and audit firms within South Africa.
    • Coordinate outsourced tax preparation work.
