    Deputy Director-General: District Health Services REF NO: 01/2024/02

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • An undergraduate qualification in Health Sciences.
    • Postgraduate (NQF level 8) qualifications in management.
    • Eight to ten (8-10) years of experience at a senior management level in the Health Services environment.
    • Three (3) years of experience in District Health Services or Health Programme Environment (added advantage).
    • Pre-entry Certificate for the Senior Management Service (SMS) from the National School of Government, to be submitted before appointment.
    • Computer literacy.
    • A valid driver’s license.

    Chief Director: Infrastructure Development and Technical Services REF NO: 02/2024/02

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in the Built Environment (NQF Level 7) as recognised by SAQA.
    • Post-graduate qualification in management (added advantage).
    • Five (5) years of relevant experience in a Senior Management position with proven managerial skills.
    • Experience in Public Sector Management and/or related Management, particularly in designing and delivering infrastructure programmes.
    • Pre-entry Certificate for the Senior Management Services (SMS) from the National School of Government (to be submitted before appointment).
    • A valid driver’s license.
    • In-depth knowledge of Government policies, procedures, and prescripts.
    • Proven track record of successfully managing construction programmes and projects.
    • Thorough knowledge of the CIDB Act and Regulations.
    • Knowledge of financial and Supply Chain Management processes, Supply Chain Management Policies, Government Immovable Asset Management Act of 2007, Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations, as well as other related Acts and Regulations.
    • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
    • Project management expertise, research and benchmarking skills.

    • Provide strategic direction for the directorates, including Infrastructure Planning, Infrastructure Delivery, Health Technology Management, and Maintenance Management.
    • Oversee the planning and construction of new health facilities and the renovation and maintenance of existing facilities.
    • Carry out leadership functions such as planning work programmes, personnel administration, and determining work procedures and methods.
    • Prepare presentations and briefs for the Head of Department.
    • Manage structures, external committees, and stakeholders.
    • Provide technical and professional support to the Head of Department.
    • Write reports, memorandums, and policy documents.
    • Prepare documentation for follow-up in high-profile meetings.
    • Develop and maintain a system to ensure good corporate governance.
    • Coordinate all infrastructure projects, from planning to execution, monitoring, and evaluation.
    • Lead the change management process in the department, including policy development, organisational realignment, and system implementation.
