    Finance Manager - Mining Industry - R1.1M - R900K

    Description

    Hires Resolve has partnered with a small mining company to find a Finance Manager to join their Finance department at their offices in Sandton. The Finance Manager is responsible for implementing accounting systems and processes, preparing monthly financial reports and controlling the master data of the general ledger of the organization. Furthermore, preparing income tax statements and conducting audits of the company finances.

    Responsibilities

    • Overseeing the duties of the Finance/Accounting team
    • Implementing accounting systems and processes for the organization
    • ∙Reviewing the company's systems and analyzing risk
    • ∙Undertake financial audits to determine the organization’s financial position
    • Preparing the companies monthly financial reports
    • ∙Prepare financial statements, including monthly and annual accounts
    • Control the master data of the general ledgers
    • Reconcile income statements
    • Detect and prevent financial fraud that may arise
    • Review and release online banking payments
    • ∙Liaise with internal and external auditors (where applicable) and deal with any financial irregularities as they arise
    • ∙Arrange financial management reports, including financial planning and forecasting
    • ∙Ensure compliance with the South African Revenue service

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Honors degree preferred
    • Completion of Articles
    • 5 years proven experience post articles
    • Registered with The South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA)
    • Experience with filing of corporate tax returns

    Description

    Hire Resolve's client is looking for an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join their team in the Western Cape. The Quantity Surveyor plays an integral role in implementing appropriate cost and revenue controls on projects and providing timeous and accurate information to Management and client stakeholders.

    Responsibilities

    • Site cost management, ensuring that all costs are aligned with the bill of quantities
    • Subcontractor appointments, payments and monthly claims
    • Control of project variations and approval process with client and subcontractors
    • Site Measurements
    • Attending all Site Meetings
    • Site correspondence with internal and external stakeholders
    • Ensuring payments and final accounts are managed efficiently
    • Manages and leads actions that are necessary due to delays, bad weather, or emergencies at construction sites
    • Performs other related duties as assigned

    Requirements

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CCS (advanced skills advantageous)
    • Thorough understanding of contracts, plans, specifications, and regulations
    • Minimum of Diploma in Quantity Surveying or similar (essential), BSc QS or BTech (advantageous)
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working for a Contractor as a Quantity Surveyor on Building Projects
    • Must have a clear criminal record
    • Must have a valid drivers licence and own reliable transport
    • Must be medically fit
