    Systems Analyst

    Job Purpose

    As a Systems Analyst you will have a strong understanding of Systems Analysis and how well software, hardware and the wider IT system fit the business needs of the Bank. Implement, maintain, and support IT and information’s systems to meet the business needs of organization. Analyze and create tests, and develop specifications and requirements for new systems and assist with implementation and monitoring effectiveness thereof.

    Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to

    • Assume responsibility for the analysis and design of new IT solutions as well as the modification/ enhancement of existing systems to integrate new features or improvements to improve business efficiency and productivity.
    • Interview business users to define business requirements.
    • Thoroughly understand the software development lifecycle.
    • Translating Client requirements into highly specified functional and technical specifications.
    • Developing solutions and related products.
    • Presenting proposals to clients.
    • Drawing up, supervising, and documenting testing schedule for complete system.
    • Facilitate UAT, Report on project Status.
    • Overseeing implementation of a new system including data migration.
    • Supporting users on change control and system updates.
    • Provide training and user manuals to users of a new system.
    • Keep up to date with technical and industry developments.
    • Must be comfortable with multiple process modelling notations.
    • Work closely with Colleagues, Developers, Testers, and a variety of End-users to ensure technical compatibility and User satisfaction.
    • The incumbent will actively coach other analysts and use both their knowledge of Discovery Bank as well as their technical knowledge to make decisions.

    Personal Attributes & Technical Skills

    • Extensive Knowledge and understanding of Banking Products and Solutions associated with Payments, Card Processing, bank transfers and how they are implemented in conjunction with other banking products.
    • Will assume technical leadership role for assigned Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
    • Strong ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical people.
    • Must be comfortable with multiple process modelling notations.
    • Must have a solid understanding of UML, in particular Class Diagrams, Component diagrams and Activity Diagrams.
    • Must have experience working with REST APIs, including the ability to read Swagger Documents, and test APIs with Postman.
    • Experience with SOAP Web Services and SOAPUI will be valuable.
    • Must be comfortable reading JSON and XML files.
    • Commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and creating quality products is essential.
    • Experience with SQL, CMIC (ERP System), HCSS construction software, Boomi integration platform.
    • Scrum Master preferred.
    • JIRA Configuration & setup skills preferred.

    Education And Experience

    • At least 7+ Years’ experience in systems analysis.
    • Experience in Data Analytics.
    • Banking or Financial services experience.
    • Degree in computer science or a computer related field.
    • Business and Product experience.

    Relationship Banker

    Key Purpose

    Build lasting relationships to retain a portfolio of high-net-worth clients by providing expert advice regularly in the structuring of a client’s portfolio to unlock long term value, while attracting new clients to meet future growth targets.

    • Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to
    • Achieve revenue and profit targets by growing portfolio base.
    • Provide expert advice to clients by analysing which combination of shared-value solutions offered by Discovery will enable a client to meet their long-term financial goals, while ensuring revenue and profit growth of the portfolio.
    • Build strong working relationships across teams and functional lines in Discovery and Discovery Bank to enhance work delivery, collaboration and innovation.
    • Deliver an exceptional client experience through regular and informative engagement sessions that share new product information, outline how macro & microeconomic factors are impacting on a client’s long-term goals and where necessary manage the process to restructure the portfolio.
    • Monitors customer complaints on portfolio to identify root causes and addresses these at source.

    Education And Experience

    • Degree in Finance, Economics or Accounting
    • FAIS accredited (RE5)
    • 3 to 6 years’ experience in a Private Banker role managing a portfolio of clients.
    • Experience with face-to-face meetings with clients is essential.

    Human Capital Strategic Enablement Senior Specialist

    Job Purpose

    • The job holder will be responsible for:
    • providing critical input into the development & implementation of key human capital (HC) strategies for Greater Marketing (Marketing & Sales). This includes owning people projects, from inception through to execution.
    • owning & leading the talent acquisition & onboarding function with a team of talent acquisition specialists’.
    • co-ordinating & supporting HR support functions across Greater Marketing.

    Key Outputs May Include But Are Not Limited To

    • Contribution to & implementation of key initiatives & Human Capital strategies.
    • Extensive research to drive for best practice adoption and innovation;
    • Implementation: projects, initiatives & organisational changes;
    • Ownership of the talent acquisition & onboarding function across Greater Marketing;
    • Functional co-ordination & support for HR teams across Greater Marketing

    Research & Strategy Development

    • To stay abreast of international best practice and trends as well as ensure necessary changes are implemented on an ongoing basis.

    Strategy & Project Implementation

    • Ensure successful execution of HC strategies for the business
    • Implementation of & / or accountability for all Greater Marketing people projects and initiatives. This includes developing proposals & business cases for new initiatives, developing requirement specifications, signing off business specifications & user testing.
    • To contribute technically to all HR Projects.
    • Ensure completion of the benefit realisation for all implemented projects.
    • To perform post implementation analysis & action findings.

    Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

    • Owning & leading the talent acquisition & onboarding function across Greater Marketing.
    • Researching as well as driving best practice & innovation.
    • Enabling proactive servicing by building talent pools for strategic/critical roles.
    • Co-ordinating resources to enable an effective service to stakeholders.
    • Ensuring that processes are in place & adhered to.
    • Reporting on key metrics to measure the success of talent acquisition activities.
    • Trouble shooting & problem solving.

    Functional Co-ordination & Support

    The incumbent will be responsible for the support & co-ordination of the Greater Marketing Human Capital function, ensuring that HR teams are able to deliver the required service to their clients.

    • Support all the HR roles to ensure successful execution of their HR responsibilities.
    • Continuous improvements of the Human Capital function – processes, systems and tools.
    • Documentation & maintenance of all HR processes.
    • To monitor performance within the HR functions and to ensure that trends are identified, & corrective action is taken where necessary.
    • To check work methodologies and outcomes and ensure that they are consistent and effective operationally.
    • To ensure creation and communication of reports & dashboards for the People function.
    • To ensure consistent application of required standards for HC processes, including creation of new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) & the maintenance of these SOPs.
    • Support pipeline development for all HC Roles.

    • Present and engage with Marketing Exco, S&D People Exco, as well as DCDS Exco

    • Minimum 7 years functional and/or management experience with demonstrated experience in:
    • End to end HR expertise
    • Strategy development and implementation

    • Business Process Redesign

    Preferred (would Be Advantageous)

    • Experience in the Discovery people function
    • Organisational Design (OD) experience
    • General HR experience
    • Consulting experience

    Required

    Education / Qualifications / Accreditations with Professional Body

    • Completed tertiary qualification (NQF level 7 equivalent)

    • Completed Honours/ Masters degree (advantageous)
