    Administration Clerk

    Job Purpose    

    • To collate and coordinate primary documentation and communication flow between Business Units, Customs and Other Government Agencies (OGA’s) in order to comply with legislation and obtain Customs and OGA’s Releases of cargo declarations and collection of documents from various airlines.

    Qualifications & Experience    
    Qualifications:

    • Grade 12 / Matric essential

    Experience:

    • 1-2 years in an Admin role (preferably within a Customs/Freight Forwarding environment)

    Key Responsibilities    
    Key responsibilities of this role:

    • Prepare Customs releases to enable cargo drawing
    • Facilitate the release of other detained shipments
    • Prepare draw sheets to draw cargo
    • Communicate release information to Business Units 
    • Facilitate process of cargo withdrawal from States Warehouse
    • Collection of documents from various Airlines.

    Main activities of this role:

    • Print release notifications and verify accuracy
    • Request VOC's (Vouchers of Correction) if necessary
    • Arrange reprints if manual release is not received
    • Request Waybills and other relevant documents from Business Units
    • Submission of documents to relevant Government organisations
    • Arrange for inspections of Customs and OGA Stops
    • Finalise and obtain releases
    • Sorting of releases into certain categories
    • Capture draw sheets
    • Arrange with Business Unit for States Warehouse Rent notes & check for correctness
    • Verify ATA with various Airlines
    • Analyze Acquittal Report for submission to Customs
    • Process De-Group RIB's in CargoWise.

    Skills & Competencies    
    Knowledge:

    • Understanding of internal document processes
    • Understanding of Customs documentation processes
    • Understanding of Governmental documentation processes.

    Skills:

    • Drivers licence
    • Compu-Clearing
    • Basic MS Excel Skills / computer skills
    • Analytical mind and ability to resolve problems / queries.

    Business Development Consultant

    Job Purpose    

    • Bidvest International Logistics (BIL) is looking to appoint a dynamic Business Development Consultant to join their Sales team based in the Richards Bay area.
    • The incumbent will be expected to manage the generation of new business within your designated industry vertical through actively marketing Bidvest International Logistics and establishing  long term business relationships with target accounts. To sell the company’s primary products and supply chain solutions locally and internationally by following a structured sales approach (SPPM).

    Qualifications & Experience    

    • Matric / Grade 12
    • Tertiary Education: BDegree and/or Honours Degree or a relevant Post Graduate Qualification (NQF Level 6), National Certificate or Diploma beneficial
    • Years of Experience: At least 5 years Sales experience, preferably in the 3/4 PL and/or Freight Forwarding Industry.
    • Specific Experience: Strong sales experience and ideally has worked in a business development role. Solid working knowledge of sales, business development and planning and management.
    • Proven track record in Freight Forwarding, Clearing and Contract Logistics Industry and/or 3/4 PL. E2E Supply Chain experience.
    • Computer Literacy: Full MS products at Intermediate level, as well as CRM capabilities.
    • Code 08 Drivers License essential

    Key Responsibilities    

    • Primary role is to prospect , develop and manage new business opportunities through networking , cold calling and identifying potential new business.
    • Responsible for IV's growth profit and revenue growth.
    • Sustains the growth of the company's business by establishing new business relationships within the particular industry vertical.
    • Continuously taking initiative and being innovative within the aspects of a particular industry vertical.
    • Clear communication both internally and externally (BIL Product heads and our Agents)
    • Present and consult at senior management level on business trends with a view to developing new service offerings
    • Ensure that bids/tenders/RFQ's/RFE's/RFP's are attended to and captured into CRM for all your team's initiatives
    • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of BIL's complete service offering, while ensuring clients needs are always met
    • Identify new ideas by researching within and outside the industry and attending related events

    Skills & Competencies    

    • Sales and Marketing - Ability to promote and sell BIL's products or services while following the sales process and strategy.
    • Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing a high level of customer service. This includes customer needs assessments, monthly / quarterly reviews and the evaluation of customer satisfaction.
    • Must be reliable with the ability to work relatively unsupervised at times, and work indepedently.
    • Attention to detail when completing work tasks.
    • A willingness to lead, take charge and offer opinions and direction
    • A willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges
    • The ability to think outside the box (innovate) and look for solutions that will meet the clients needs.

    Operations Manager / Branch Manager

    Job Purpose    

    • Bidvest International Logistics is looking to appoint an Operations Manager / Branch Manager to lead every aspect of running our branch in East London.
    • The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining sound relationships with key external clients, internal clients, third party service providers and other stakeholders towards exceptional service delivery as well as manage expenditure of the branch and provide ideas for continuous improvement.
    • Manage and mitigate risk with regards to SARS Customs / financial risks / client penalties / company risks, etc.
    • The successful incumbent should ensure staff are engaged, empowered and motivated to deliver a customer service that will lead to improved financial performance.

    Qualifications & Experience    

    • Matric / Grade 12
    • Relevant tertiary qualification highly advantageous
    • Proven general Managerial experience in the Freight Forwarding and Customs Clearing industry
    • Proven International Forwarding knowledge and expertise
    • Supply Chain knowledge essential
    • Good knowledge and understanding of Customs processes and legislation
    • Should hold a valid Code 8 driver’s license

    Key Responsibilities    
    Responsibilities, but not limited to: - 

    • Constantly build strong, value add relationships with top automotive clients
    • Manage OEM's service deliverables in line with their agreed Service deliverables as laid down in their contracts
    • Ensure no service failures iro IO integration, immediate escalate where failures occur and elevate for prompt action, ensure no penalties incurred
    • Manage all reporting, including montly KPI reporting to clients; monthly reporting to Director; other monthly reporting including Compliance Team reporting; statistical reporting, etc.  Highlight discrepancies and advise corrective actions taken to prevent issue from reoccuring
    • Manage all aspects of Operations including service levels, productivity and profitability as well as the Customs processes and risks
    • Manage expenditure and provide inputs for continuous improvement
    • Implement best practice / operations excellence principles in all aspects of operations where not currently in place
    • Audit BIL shipment processes and recommend corrective actions and improvements in order to align with best practice
    • Instil a culture of  Risk mitigation and Compliance
    • Assist in training staff and clients in all aspects of operations
    • Meeting and improving agreed KPI’s 
    • Assist with RFQ's and estimates as required
    • Manage performance by optimising OTIFINE (On Time, In Full, No Errors)

    Skills & Competencies    
    Knowledge:  

    • Proven knowledge of all aspects of Sea and Air  -imports & exports; including Overborder and Cross-Trade
    • Proven computer skills
    • Proven exposure to managing Legal Compliance and Risk Mitigation
    • Proven knowledge of SHERQ roles and responsibilities
    • Proven knowledge of Port / Airport rules and regulations and requirement.
    • Financial exposure and knowledge to interpret P&L's
    • HR & IR knowledge and exposure iro dealing with disciplinary enquiries
    • Good understanding of IT integration processes
    • Good Commercial knowledge including understanding client rates and profitability

    Skills:

    • Expert written and verbal communications skills.
    • Highly developed computer skills are essential.
