    Data Steward

    Role Purpose

    To implement the strategy and business processes required to create, maintain, and enhance data, and be responsible for the daily management of a critical data asset. To provide overall guidance and governance oversight to an allocated data set and actively manages data in order to maximise value, align data to business priorities, continuously improve data quality, reduce cost of data management, and to increase confidence in data and information integrity.

    Responsibility

    • Prevent wastage, and on an ongoing basis identify process improvements in order to contain and reduce costs
    • Continuously assess own performance, seek timely and clear feedback and request training where appropriate
    • Assist with the management of requests for access to data
    • Develop, encourage and nurture collaborative relationships within FNB and/or across the FRG
    • Serve as the data domain consultant to functional teams providing best practices, improved processes and architecture, queries, data interpretation and training
    • Assist in the identification, definition and population of the correct and required business metadata and maintain business glossary
    • Ensure reference and master data management processes address uniformity, accuracy, accountability and governance of shared core entities used in operational process and analytics
    • Identify opportunities to mitigate risk and structurally address root causes of problems
    • Resolve, or coordinate the resolution of, data integrity and quality issues
    • Serve as a change agent for data-related issues
    • Understand and adhere to the Information Governance Framework and associated policies and guidelines
    • Provide overall guidance and governance oversight to the data management activities for critical data assets
    • Create, maintain, resolve and report data related activities such as definitions, rules, data quality issues and data modeling
    • Build working relationships across teams and functional lines in order to enhance work delivery, collaboration and innovation 

    Additional Requirements

    • Expertise in Financial Services domains, including expertise at the intersection of risk, finance and customer domains
    • Sound knowledge of data management life-cycle and data governance principles
    • Sound knowledge of data, business and IT architecture
    • Sound knowledge of metadata, master data, data integration principles and data quality management
    • Sound SQL knowledge
    • Data modelling skills and familiarity with industry data models
    • Familiarity with process modelling, semantic modelling and data modelling
    • Familiarity with Enterprise Metadata Management (business and IT) and OMG standards
    • Information management program life cycle experience
    • Experience in operationalising Data Governance, Data Stewardship and Data Quality

    Qualification and Experience

    • Minimum Qualification - Relevant BCom or BSc degree
    • Preferred Qualification - Relevant post graduate BCom or BSc degree
    • Experience - 5 to 10 years of experience in managing financial data

    Production Support Specialist

    Role Purpose

    • To schedule operational time. Ensure information systems equipment is effectively utilized and coordinate preventative maintenance with operating requirements.

    Responsibility

    • Drive business profitability in the context of cost management through Information technology solutions.
    • Increase operational efficiency and suggest solutions to enhance cost effectiveness.
    • Deliver exceptional service that exceeds customers’ expectations through proactive, innovative and appropriate solution.
    • Cultivate and manage objective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including end-users, SME’s, project managers and senior staff members by providing input to business requirements.
    • Resolving of escalated queries within required SLA period from Contact Centre.
    • Ensure appropriate IT Operational times are scheduled and monitor achievements against execution.
    • Set technical and strategic direction regarding all batch processes through support with Code Advanced JC, Code IBM JCL utilities and product administration on all relevant FNB platforms.
    • Monitor changes in legislation, regulations, initiatives and relevant industry practices. Ensure drafting and implementation of appropriate interventions. Ensure compliance with audit requirements.
    • Ensure information systems equipment effectively are utilised and coordinate preventive maintenance with operating requirements. 
    • Ensure IT Front-end and Back-end process and product enhancements and make recommendation to improve service and processes for 3rd tier support of FNB IT products.
    • Set and enforce all batch standards using relevant tools to do Code Advanced Automation, Create Batch Schedules and Create Change Order.
    • Support batch FTP and the creation of FTP encryption data by development and analyze and change batch schedules on request.
    • Manage own development to increase own competencies.
    • Ensure the Production Support team remains abreast of Front-end and Back-end products and process developments.
    • Plan and manage performance, skills development, employment equity, talent and culture of team in order to improve innovation, achieve efficiencies and increase competencies.

    Additional Requirements

    • Experience in Linux scripting and running infrastructure as code
    • Knowledge On various DevOps tools and technologies (such as GIT, Jenkins/bamboo, Ansible/puppet/chef and Docker)
    • Minimum of 2 years test automation experience (using Python, JSON/JavaScript)

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Degree or Diploma and required certification
    • 2 years related experience and previous product knowledge
