    What the programme offers to you?

    Finance is about having the right information at the right time and using it to expand and develop the business. Working in this function you will learn how to identify the wider opportunities that lie behind the figures. You will help us plan where and when to market our premium brands, and whether to launch new products or campaigns. Your analysis will allow us to make informed decisions on when to push for even greater sales. Your predictions of risk versus potential reward will help us to decide whether or not to pursue an opportunity.

    Over the course of your three year graduate programme you’ll drive your own development and it will be up to you to seek out opportunities to gain experience in a variety of areas. These could range from preparing and maintaining accounting records to risk management and business assurance to working capital and project management

    Qualification Required

    • A minimum Bachelor academic degree (Honours degree an advantage) with 70 % average or 2.70 GPA minimum in Finance or Accounting
    • Fluency in English
    • Right to live and work in South Africa
    • Willing to relocate in or outside South Africa if opportunities arise

You’ll spend time building relationships with Diageo partners and working with customers to maximise sales. You’ll be responsible for ensuring some of the most iconic brands in the world, such as Johnnie Walker, Smirnoff, Guinness and Baileys are successfully promoted, readily available and well presented to anyone who wants to buy them. It’s challenging, it’s diverse and it’s exciting. You’ll be exposed to the real business world, selling and discovering all you need to know about our brands, our competitors, the market and customers.

    Qualification Required

    Brand Manager Johnnie Walker

    Purpose of Role

    Development and delivery of strategic marketing plans (which are consumer centric) which achieve the business objectives as specified in the P4G for JW.

    Top Accountabilities

    • Contribution to the formulation of annual GAME Plan:
    • Situation Review
    • Insight generation and brand positioning formulation/applications
    • Setting consumer & customer goals for brand plans.
    • Working with strategic partners to develop activity plans based on a clear understanding of the estimated impact of both new & existing activities over an 18 month period.
    • Measurement & evaluation / A&P effectiveness of all activities –ensure utilisation of consumer insight work and research data where appropriate.
    • Monitoring and reporting of monthly sales volume progression and share performance and identification of key issues and opportunities vs competitors.
    • Brief and manage 3rd Party Agencies in the timeous delivery of Through the Line Marketing activities.
    • Manage allocated conceptualization, development and implementation budget for each activity/sales driver.
    • Work in conjunction with Commercial colleagues on 6 Customer specific sales drivers e.g. QDVP3)
    • Ensure all activities developed within marketing code and ARA principles and manage internal approval process, including SMART Approve.
    • Cycle Brief activity planning. In conjunction with regional team, brief all BTL activity to agencies according to DWBB principles and brand objectives, and ensure seamless handover to region once materials are procured and delivered.
    • Strong management of inter-functional relationships, in particular with Commercial teams, Supply chain, Business Support and Global Brand Teams to apply sales feedback effectively to drive target volumes for the brand.
    • Assist and or support the Marketing manager on key projects. (When and where needed).

    Qualifications
