    Technical Buyer - Brits

    Job purpose

    • Manage the procurement process for the business. Support the Site Procurement in conducting local and international purchases in an effective, transparent and professional manner according to Bridgestone’s procurement policy and procedures. Ensure that quality products are purchased at a competitive price and delivered on time to minimize any delays in production.

    Responsibilities

    • Ensure all orders are in accordance with signed supplier contracts, company standards and minimum requirements.
    • Monitors and maintains current inventory levels
    • Obtain at least 3 quotations prior to adjudication of an order where a contract is not in place.
    • They work with the engineering department to make sure that technical specifications of the stocks are correct.
    • Ensure all orders are delivered within the agreed lead-time.
    • Expedite all outstanding orders and take corrective action if necessary
    • Report on a daily basis on all outstanding orders and communicate with the stakeholders concerning the progress of their orders / quotations.

    General Worker - Tyre Fitter (Bellville)

    Job Purpose

    • We are looking for a General Worker reporting directly to the Branch Manager. This is a local role, based in Belville.

    You will ensure that all the tyres are maintained.

    Responsibilities:

    • Tyre Maintenance
    • All vehicles to leave the yard with tyres as per SLA;
    • All vehicles are surveyed at least once a month;
    • Conduct pressure maintenance and correctly capture pressure readings on Survey Sheet;
    • Capture tread depth readings over three sections of the tread area and capture on Survey Sheet;
    • Fit all wheel positions with valve caps and on all dual positions a valve extension;
    • All tyre movements are captured on a Tyre Change Slip;
    • All wheel changes must be done subject to SLA;
    • Remove smooth tyres and match tread, size and status mismatches;
    • Remove tyres with a pressure reading under a 15% of the recommended pressure and check for irregularities;
    • Brand tyres as per Bridgestone Commercial and Client agreement;
    • Torque all wheel positions at least once a month;
    • Report all wheel defects with a Tyre Action Report;

    Inspect and clean rims before fitting tyres.

    • Stock
    • Stock is taken on a daily basis in a Bridgestone Commercial Stock Book;
    • Stock must be taken by size and brand number;
    • Report daily stock to Customer. (Sign off Stock Sheet);

    All tyres in stock must have a brand number for identification.

    • Health & Safety

    OTR - Technical Manager - JBH

    Job Purpose

    • We are looking for an OTR Technical Manager  reporting directly to the Business Segment Manager OTR. This is a Local role, based in Midrand.
    • You will manage a team of people who conducting monthly site/fleet surveys for customers. Scrap analysis, load studies, TKPH studies, Site Severity studies and monitoring of fleet and products as well as assist the branches with possible sales identification as well as monitoring of tyres and machines across the board.

    BME Maintenance Lead Trainer - Brits

    Job Purpose

    • The role is responsible for training cells in accordance with the methodology and using B-ME tools. B-ME trainer responsible for the Maintenance Lead training:
    • Trains in the Progressive Maintenance (PM) process in the cell and supports the Maintenance Lead  in the elimination of losses related to inspections and failures; He trains in the following processes: Maintenance  Planning & Scheduling (MP&S),  Breakdown Elimination  (BDE), contributing to the elimination of risks related to inspections and failures.

    Artisan - Electrician (Brits)

    Job purpose

    • To apply an electrical theory or related knowledge in testing and modifying operational or developmental electrical control circuitry and equipment and electrical machinery in industrial plants. To perform various skilled, journey-level tasks in installation, maintenance, testing, and repair of electronic control systems and electrical systems.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide technical assistance and resolution to Electrical Breakdowns
    • Attend to breakdowns that occur during the shift
    • Troubleshooting of breakdowns using PLCs

    Job purpose

    To establish & maintain an effective overall QMS: By implementing & reviewing QS based on ISO TS & OEM requirements. Conducting internal & external audits. Initiating and analyzing corrective & preventive actions.  Identify and initiate QS & basic Health & Safety training. Developing & coordinating the Brits plant document control database / QS on the Bridgestone Intranet & QS administration for the Brits Manufacturing plant / Isando & Durban OE Sales & Warehousing.                                                                                                             

    Main responsibilities

    • Ensure establishment, implementation & maintenance of an effective Quality Management System.
    • Compile and maintain a documented Quality System in accordance to ISO 9001, ISO TS/16949 & OEM requirements.
    • Ensure Bridgestone standards (TCE & BSJ) are implemented.
    • Ensure Brits Plant Centralised document control system on U:/ drive
    • QMS on Bridgestone Intranet & P:/

    Quality Engineer - Senior (Brits)

    Job purpose

    To establish & maintain an effective overall QMS: By implementing & reviewing QS based on ISO TS & OEM requirements. Conducting internal & external audits. Initiating and analyzing corrective & preventive actions.  Identify and initiate QS & basic Health & Safety training. Developing & coordinating the Brits plant document control database / QS on the Bridgestone Intranet & QS administration for the Brits Manufacturing plant / Isando & Durban OE Sales & Warehousing.                                                                                                             

    Main responsibilities

    • Ensure establishment, implementation & maintenance of an effective Quality Management System.
    • Compile and maintain a documented Quality System in accordance to ISO 9001, ISO TS/16949 & OEM requirements.
    • Ensure Bridgestone standards (TCE & BSJ) are implemented.
    • Ensure Brits Plant Centralised document control system on U:/ drive
    • QMS on Bridgestone Intranet & P:/
    • Co-ordinate effective QMP’s (linkage of FMEA, PM & control plans including OEM requirements.

    Qs administration.

    • Co-ordinate and ensure compliance with Bridgestone Critical record retention & Metro file systems.
    • Ensure record keeping of QS & OEM documentation.
    • Ensure monitoring, downloading, filing  & communication of changes to requirements on the following web sites:
    • International Automotive Oversight Bureau & ISO (Int. Org. For Standardization) & OEM web sites.
    • Co-ordinate certification quotes, invoice & payments.

     Conduct internal & external audits.

    • Plan, schedule & ensure Process, Product & System audits are conducted in accordance to specified requirements. (ISO 9001/ TS/ Bridgestone & OEM)
    • Ensure quality system complies to standards related to DQS & OEM Audit standards.  Spokesperson for QS dep. during external audits.
    • Assist Laboratory Manager with Vendor audits.  Conduct Vendor audits in his / her absence.
    • Delegate audit program, catering for function / transportation for external audits etc.

    Training

    • Tutor new QS auditors prior to Bridgestone qualification.
    • Identify QS training needs.
    • Compile QS training material & provide training.

    QS Induction

    • Promote Quality Awareness and Customer requirement throughout the organisation.
    • Auditors qualification matrix.

    Auditor’s certificates.

    • Member of the training committee meeting.
    • APQP – (PPAP) Product Part Approval Process for all OEM’s.
    • Responsible for the compilation of OEM PPAP documents for all new customer product / sizes.
    • Maintenance of OEM system requirements on individual web-sites. (BMW - b2b, Ford - Covisint etc.) & communication thereof  -Monitoring ppm’s, re-qualification audits, bulletins, OEM QS & 8D reports.
    •  Analyse and ensure effective corrective actions and QS Management Reviews.
    • Liaise with managers regarding internal quality audit recommendations and corrective actions.
    • Liaise DQS, Vendors  & OEM’s regarding recommendations and corrective actions on external audits
    • Identify shortfalls and ensure appropriate countermeasures are introduced pertaining to QTR’s (Misproductions) & QPR’s (Customer Complaints.)
    • Ensure Management reviews according to requirements.
    • Assist in identifying QS departmental goals.
    • Chair Disciplinary Hearings.
    • Presiding Officer during disciplinary hearings.

    SHE

    • Appointed chairperson of QS departmental Safety meetings.
    • Ensure SHE meetings & Health & Safety talks are scheduled and conducted and records are kept.  Attend Central SHE Meetings and give feedback on Monthly QS meetings.
    • SHE Management:: ISO 14001:2004 Environmental and OHSAS 18001:2007 Occupational Health & Safety
    • Management Systems.
    • Ensure compliance to applicable Management Procedures and Work Instructions.
    • Conduct Incident / Accident investigations, make recommendations and complete corrective action requests (CAR).
    • Control and inspect applicable Records, Forms and Inspection Register.
    • Conduct SHE Representative Nominations and Elections.
    • Control SHE Representative Inspections.
    • Control applicable machinery and equipment inspections.
