    Dispensary Technician

    About the role

    •     Weigh out the quantity of raw materials required as per Process Order.
    •     Co-ordinates workflow and set up Dispensary Work Schedule.
    •     Complete the routine monitoring in the Dispensary & relevant areas.
    •     In the absence of FLL assist in performing duties/responsibilities pertaining to the FLL.

    Key responsibilities

    • Ensure products are dispensed to the required quality and compliance standards. 
    • Ensures that daily environmental checks are recorded & that calibration checks on scales are conducted prior to the dispensing process. 
    • Flags any quality issues and communicates to the FLL/ Pharmacist timeously. 
    • Conduct all work activities on accordance with the Environment Health, Safety and Wellbeing Policy QD-POL-000823.
    • Monitors product changeovers and ensures compliance with ‘standard work’ in order to achieve efficient changeovers. 
    • Ensures availability of materials and consumables by timeously communicating the requirements to the Warehouse. 
    • Identifies problems as they occur and flags issues immediately to the FLL/Pharmacist and relevant support functions. 
    • Ensures that all Dispensary related documentation is completed timeously and in accordance with SOPs.
    • Applies problem-solving techniques to dispensary problems. 
    • Responsible for stock counts in the Dispensary Pre-Staging Area (PSA), Cold Room and Flammable Store.
    • Ensures compliance with issues of first expired, first out (FEFO)
    • Ensures good time keeping and attendance.
    • Acts as one of the departmental representatives e.g. first aider, Fire fighter, etc. for a term.
    • Performing cleaning of dispensary and utensils as per SOP.

    Qualifications and skills

    Required

    • Grade 12/Matric.
    • Ideally 2 years’ experience within a pharmaceutical production environment.

    Other Skills/Qualifications

    • Good computer literacy.

    Dispensary Manager

    About the role

    • This job has area/shift responsibility for overall compliance oversight and regulatory related activities. Ensures materials are dispensed to the required quality and compliance standards accordance with statutory requirements and duties and ensures Compliance within the department.
    • The Pharmacist report directly into Site Production Pharmacist. Ensure that applicable Standard Operating Procedures are followed, Monitors adherence to rules, regulations and procedures and help team to achieve business goals. Support the Team in application of HAPS basis to promote a culture of continuous process and quality improvement.
    • Work extended shift during the week and on weekends when operationally required.

    Key responsibilities

    • Manages Dispensary personnel in line with Haleon Managerial Standards including taking disciplinary action when required.
    • Provide appropriate training and development to Dispensary personnel to meet their respective job responsibilities.
    • Monitors the daily Dispensary performance and take corrective action when performance does not meet the required standard.
    • Co-ordinate’s workflow and set up Dispensary Work Schedule.
    • Completes relevant documentation and administration in the dispensary.
    • Ensure dispensing activities are conducted according to GMP guidelines.
    • Manages and investigates stock discrepancies.
    • Responsible for the Flammable Store, Security Store(S5&6), Citric acid rebate store and Cold store.
    • Maintains Good Housekeeping standards in the Dispensary & Related Areas.
    • GMP & COMPLIANCE - Ensuring products are manufactured to the required quality and compliance standards.
    • QUALITY - Ensuring compliance to QMS (Quality Management System) & Regulatory requirements in the Dispensary and Related Areas.
    • ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH AND SAFETY (EHS) - Ensuring product is manufactured to the required EHS standards.
    • PRODUCTION - Executing Production activities in accordance with agreed supply plan.
    • Initiating troubleshooting, problem solving and resolution of any obstacles in achieving agreed supply plan.
    • Approving commencement of manufacturing and packaging runs after performing line clearance checks.
    • Controlling manufacturing and packaging batch records in production.
    • Controlling the issue of raw materials and packaging components for production.
    • Work directly with planning, QC, other QA functions, to ensure batches are released to meet Business requirements.
    • Ensure adherence to GMP requirements within the manufacturing site.
    • Participate in self-inspection audits.
    • Creating and reviewing written procedures.
    • Ensuring adequate archiving and retention of batch documents.

    Qualifications and skills

    Required

    • Pharmacist qualification.
    • Registered as a Pharmacist with the South African Pharmacy Council.
    • Ideally 5 years’ experience within a pharmaceutical production environment.

    • Good planning/scheduling ability.

    Site EHS and Engineering Lead

    About the role

    • This role is responsible for leading all environmental, health, and safety and engineering operations within the site.
    • This position ensures the site is meeting the global and local environmental, health, and safety requirements; engineering projects are executed effectively; utilities and facilities are maintained to ensure safety, compliance, and productivity; OT/IT infrastructure and cybersecurity compliance; and maintenance of the production systems to enable production reliability.

    Key responsibilities

    Leadership and Management

    • Lead the EHS and Engineering team of 20-50 people based on size of plant to deliver against the Site Objectives: Vision setting, objective setting, execution coaching, evaluation of progress, staffing, team engagement, career coaching.

    Site Safety Management

    • Have Duty Holder understanding of the environmental, health, and safety standards to ensure that the site has the governance, systems, and processes to meet the global and local standards. Staff the EHS and W team to have the skills to meet the sufficient level of expertise and execution in the high hazard systems. Coach site EHS leader on safety cultural programs that ensure that safety is owned by everyone in the site.

    Engineering and Capital Project Management Leadership

    • Lead the site capital systems and project team to deliver projects with excellence: deliver cost, schedule, safety/quality, OEE, and other business criteria. Ensure that the financial management of projects meets financial compliance expectations. Support the definition of investments that enable the site objectives: Savings, Growth, and compliance.

    Automation/OT/IT Management

    • Ensure of the execution of the maintenance and cybersecurity of the OT infrastructure along with ensuring the installation of automation technology needed to deliver the site productivity and growth goals at the lowest OPEX.

    Utilities/Facilities/Maintenance Management

    • Lead the team of resources responsible for the maintenance of the utilities, facilities, and production equipment maintenance to eliminate major breakdowns and ongoing system maintenance at 4-5% of the planned production time.

    Collaborate with SLT and Global resources to deliver QSC Excellence

    • Continuous Improvement: Regularly look for manufacturing improvements to deliver site business needs
    • Stakeholder Communication: Regularly communicate progress, challenges, and successes to Site Leader. This includes preparing and presenting reports, facilitating sub-team meetings, and ensuring transparency and alignment across the organization.
    • Risk Management: Identify and manage risks associated with EHS and Engineering. This includes conducting risk assessments, developing mitigation strategies, and ensuring all activities comply with relevant regulations and company policies.

    Qualifications and skills

    Required

    • 4-year university- Engineering

    Preferred

    • Master's in engineering
    • 10 years in manufacturing Engineering and EHS

    Other Skills/Qualifications

    • Understanding of manufacturing, packing, and warehouse technology; Industry standards for Project Management and Capital Systems management; and EHS local and corporate standards.
    • Understanding the business strategies and how to translate the strategies into the objectives of Engineering and EHS.
    • Ability to translate the innovation and growth requirements into the Safety and Quality compliant equipment solutions that meet the business timing and cost.
    • Ability to define engineering solutions to business challenges at target cost and schedule, OT cybersecurity threats, natural disasters emergency response and BCP execution, and equipment productivity losses resulting in loss of production requiring engineering preventative maintenance or re-engineering.
    • Innovation is required to develop new equipment options to meet capacity growth, new production introductions, and resolution of chronic production outages.

    Despatch Storeman

    About the role

    • Responsible for ensuring the correct and timeous receipt of materials onto the system.
    • Maintaining accuracy of stock.
    • Ensuring that the transfer orders are picked accurately, and documents are filled in correctly.
    • Maintaining good customer service and meeting customer deadline timeously.​   

    Key responsibilities

    • Check stock received into Finished Goods Warehouse from the Value Streams for correctness and accuracy.
    • Performs movement of stock into locations daily. Transfer orders to be closed within 24hours.  
    • Complete cycle counts and performs re-checks for discrepancies.  
    • Picks and packs stock as per picking slip. Picks and confirm using RF device.
    • Packs Export orders into shaftainers for air-freight with thermal blanket over the shaftainer.
    • Ensures pallets sent via sea-freight are wrapped to the base of pallet and all pallets are in good condition and heat-treated.
    • Comply with all applicable SOPs. 
    • Maintains good housekeeping standards. 
    • Wears personal protective clothing & equipment as required. 
    • Comply with all relevant EHS standards. 
    • Assists daily in assessing condition of Turret Truck Machines and Forklift Trucks before use and complete required check list as specified in SOP. 
    • Conduct all work activities in accordance with the Environment Health, Safety and Wellbeing Policy QD-POL-000823.
    • Acts as one of the departmental representatives, e.g. First Aider, Fire Fighter, etc. for a term. 
    • Work overtime when requested due to operational requirements. 
    • Collect post from post office and does banking when required normally on Thursdays.

    Qualifications and skills

    Required

    • Grade 12 or equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification.
    • 2 – 3 years’ experience in a warehouse environment.

    Preferred

    • Certification is storemanship.

    Other Skills/Qualifications

    • Turret Stock Picker & Forklift Driver’s License needed. 
    • Good interpersonal skills and organizational skills. 
    • Ability to work under pressure to a deadline and self-motivated. 
    • Numeracy & accuracy. 
    • Ability to work overtime and shifts work if required.  
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills. 
    • Computer literate – knowledge of SAP an advantage.​ 
    • Strong work ethic.
    • Ability to work independently.
    • Males will be given preference due to the inherent occupational requirements of the role.
