    Position Overview

    Author Central allows verified authors to create an account where they can claim their titles and add content that will appear on a customer-facing author page. Author pages link to their books' detail pages, and vice versa. The Author Central Specialist will be the front line interface between Amazon and authors.     Position Responsibilities

    • Process and respond to emails and/or phone calls in German and English
    • Work on developing standard responses for common questions
    • Remotely calibrate with peers and leads on other sites of the network to ensure consistent experience to publishers and authors and optimize internal processes

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

    • Proven German and English verbal and written fluency skills.

    As a Data Center Operational Security Specialist Intern, you will be driving operational security excellence within our Data Centers. Your constant vigilance will discover physical security gaps and shortcomings, which you will drive to fix. In this position, you will write reports, create presentations and communicate with management on the status of physical security operations.

    As an intern, you will participate in our 3 months' internship program in our Data Center. This internship covers mandatory as well as voluntary university internships, please inform us which of the two you are aiming to pursue.

    Key job responsibilities

    • Interface and direct vendors involved in new security construction, repairs, daily security operations and patrols, and planning.
    • Extract metrics and observe improvements by looking at hard data.
    • Make suggestions on improving electronic surveillance and access controls.
    • Direct efforts to educate data center occupants on false alarm reductions.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

    • In pursuit of or holds a Bachelor’s Degree within Criminology/ Justice or other relevant field

    Data Center Engineering Operations Intern M/F/D

    Job summary

    Amazon Web Services (AWS) is growing rapidly, and we are looking for Data Center Engineering Operations Technician Interns to join our expanding Infrastructure Operations team in a 3 months' internship program in our Data Center. This internship covers mandatory as well as voluntary university internships, please inform us which of the two you are aiming to pursue.

    As an AWS Intern, you will collaborate with experienced Amazon Technicians to ensure that the Data Center's mechanical, electrical and plumbing operates at 100% availability while maintaining first-class customer service to the teams and groups within the data centers. You will be tasked with driving innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities.

    The Engineering Operations team is Amazon’s front-line responders for hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting and operations. you will work with equipment that supports mission-critical servers and must maintain better than 99.999% uptime. This equipment includes, but is not limited to, stand-by diesel generators, switchgear, UPS’s, PDU’s, AHU’s, chillers, cooling towers, chemical treatment systems, pumps, motors, VFD’s, and building automation systems.

    • Maintain mechanical and electrical equipment
    • Assist root cause analysis of equipment failures

    Data Center Technician Intern M/F/D

    The intern will help ensure overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels of data center operations. This position involves hardware and network diagnostics followed by physical repair. All candidates will be exposed to independent work and in a team. Work prioritization, organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to react quickly are critical to being successful. In addition to hardware and network repair, candidates will learn how to install equipment, create documentation, innovate solutions, and fix complex problems within the data center space.

    You will participate in our 3 months’ internship program in our Frankfurt-area Data Centers. This internship covers mandatory as well as voluntary university internships, please inform us which of the two you are aiming to pursue.
    After completion of the training we offer the chance to stay with us directly or within completion of your degree, for further development in a permanent position.

    Key job responsibilities

    • As an Intern, you will collaborate with experienced Amazon Technicians, assisting them during hardware and network troubleshooting.

    You will have the opportunity to provide our internal workforce with infrastructure related support, resolving tickets related to HW (Motherboard, RAM, CPU, GPU, etc) and networking tickets (Link Down, Optics Replacements, Switch Replacements, etc).

    Duties include:

    • Hardware troubleshoot in servers which are not live with an AWS technician's supervision
    • Understand the importance to meet SLA’s against assigned trouble tickets
    • Follow the AWS technician's during network troubleshooting
    • Replace Media (SSD/HDD) according with AWS Data Tech guidance
    •  Perform regular server hardware repairs (drives, motherboards etc) under the guidance of experienced techs
    • Interact with third party vendors & contractors who are working on site

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

    • In pursuit of or obtained IT Certification or Technical/Bachelors Degree within a relevant technical field such as Information Technology, Computer Hardware Repair or similar
    • English language Proficiency, both written and verbal
    • Ability to work well with others in a team environment, displaying strong time management skills
