    Forecasting and Planning Analyst - CMD

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    The main purpose of this position is to collect, analyze and synthesize the drivers of demand to generate currency requirements for the South African Reserve Bank (SARB).

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Detailed description

    The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas: 

    • Collect, collate and analyze demand trends relating to currency requirements and stockholdings per denomination.
    • Perform reconciliations to ensure the validity, accuracy and completeness thereof, ensuring an adherence to accounting requirements.
    • Participate in collaborative industry forecasting meetings to identify major forecast deviations to jointly improve forecasting as well as understand and incorporate specific industry insights into the demand plan.
    • Scan the currency environment and coordinate cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances for input into the refinement of the currency forecasting model.
    • Develop a supply plan for quantities of currency to be issued by the SARB.
    • Participate in collaborative meetings with cash centers to identify major deviations to the planned banknotes processing plans as well as understand and incorporate specific insights into soiled banknote deposit trends from industry.
    • Support the compilation of reports on budget deviations for all relevant accounts of the division on a monthly basis. 
    • Provide a report on actual demand trends versus forecasts for input into strategic sales and operations scenario planning for banknotes and coin.
    •  Stay abreast of developments and technologies in the supply and demand industry and ensure the application thereof.
    • Determine the quantities of currency withdrawn from circulation and plan for the disposal thereof. This includes the on-site coordination of the packing, receipting, dispatching of withdrawn coin and stock counts for inventory management.
    • Support the department with the business continuity scenario planning which incorporates lead times and as well budget requirements.

    Job requirements 

    To be considered for this position, candidates must have: 

    • a Bachelor’s degree (NQF 7) in Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or an equivalent qualification; and
    • a minimum of 5–8 years of experience in supply chain management and proficiency in statistical and forecasting fundamentals. Experience in a banking environment would be advantageous.

    Senior Business Analyst - BSTD

    Brief description 

    The main purpose of this position is to provide end-to-end business analysis services to the users of the South African Reserve Bank’s (SARB) Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) module, Service Management module and Facilities Management System, with a focus on business analysis, configuration, testing, enhancements and general support to identify business problems and needs, determine solutions and enable improvement in organisational processes.

    Detailed description 

    The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas: 

    Provide functional support to users of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, with a strong focus on business analysis, configuration, testing, enhancing and optimisation.

    • Drive business analysis initiatives, from initiation to implementation, on projects of all risk levels with varying life cycles.
    • Facilitate workshops independently and consult with business owners and stakeholders in respect of problem definition and identification of business requirements/needs.
    • Review business processes and procedures, analyse business needs and associated data, identify and assess possible solutions, and define the associated requirements.
    • Elaborate on the scope and feasibility of solutions and develop the supporting business case.
    • Manage change requirements and supporting specifications.
    • Configure, where appropriate, complex business processes and tasks within a system for improvement.
    • Develop manuals and plans, and present training courses in support of implementation.
    • Investigate problems and propose solutions by interacting with users, developers and other stakeholders.
    • Stay abreast of changes to analytical tools and methodologies, identify opportunities to improve and standardise work processes and apply these in the course of own work initiatives.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Job requirements 

     To be considered for this position, candidates must be in possession of: 

    •  a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or an equivalent qualification at NQF 7 level; 
    • a relevant Business Analyst certification; and
    • a minimum of five to eight years’ business analysis experience.

    The following would be an added advantage:

    • knowledge of the following ERP modules and their integration points to other ERP modules: 
    • EAM; and
    • Service Management module;
    • knowledge of and experience in the field of corporate facilities management systems and processes; and 
    • a minimum of seven years’ experience in an ERP application support or project environment
