    Officer Safety UG - Marikana

    Minimum Required Qualification:

    • Do you have at least 5 years ‘experience in drafting Standards and Procedures and other governance documents?
    • Be in possession of a blasting ticket(UG) or engineering qualification(Trade)
    • At least 5 years’ experience in Mining or Engineering Environment.
    • At least 5 years ‘experience in drafting Standards and Procedures and other governance documents.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Be capable of delegating, directing and coordinating administrative work for relevant Safety or other Service Department staff, as may be required.
    • Have knowledge in utilization of Health and Safety systems (Pivot ; Syncromine; SharePoint ; QlikView)
    • Distribute and manage communication/ comments on governance documentation to the relevant parties for input and comments, via email before Standards Committee meeting.
    • Responsible to ensure that all relevant documentation and legislation was considered during the draft and/ or review of governance documents.
    • Ensure that documents are well written, understandable, and checked for spelling and grammatical errors.
    • Ensure that each governance document is assigned a unique reference number and title.
    • Responsible to update and manage standards registers.
    • Responsible to ensure documents are signed off on PDF and Signing Hub
    • Ensure that the final document is distributed/ published and uploaded on the relevant Document Management System.
    • Display strong reporting, analytical, problem solving and presentation abilities.

    Supervisor Surveyor Grade 1 UG

    Minimum Required Qualification:

    • NQF 4 (National Senior Certificate or Grade 12 or National Senior Certificate for Adults)
    • Chamber of Mines Advanced Survey and Valuation Certificate

    The Appointee should:

    • Grade 12 or National Senior Certificate
    • Chamber of Mines Advanced Survey and Valuation Certificate
    • Medically fit to work in the specific area
    • Clear Security screening record

    Advantageous Qualifications:

    • NQF 7 (Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Diploma) in Mineral Resource Management

    Additional Requirements:

    • At Least 5 years' experience as a Supervisor Survey Grade 2 within a survey department

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Survey services - Conducting surveys according to plan. Planning, leading completing checks and associated Gyro Base Surveys. Reporting on results, identifying deviations and recommend corrective action according to policies, guidelines and procedures. Planning and scheduling resources required to meet Survey work output plans, as well as necessary logistics to ensure the achievement of targets.
    • Maintain appropriate administration, record keeping, reporting, control and reconciliation systems in line with department's requirements through the contribution of Survey activities. Attending and participating in meetings by providing required information based on acquired knowledge and experience. Keeping abreast of latest relevant policies, procedures and regulations in line with current trends and developments and based on own specialist knowledge.
    • Ensuring that costs are controlled, and wastage of resources eliminated by working within prescribed budget and report deviations to Supervisor.
    • Computer Skills. Working knowledge of technical services specific software packages. (i.e. MinerRP CAD, Peg Calculations software, etc). Working knowledge of Surveying within the mining industry (surface and undergound)
    • Auditing and report writing skills. Ability to visualize and conceptualize 3D drawings and layouts.
    • Higher level of numerical skills. Ability to perform extra-ordinary surveys (i.e. shafts, gyro and check surveys). Analytical with attention to detail.
