    Senior Carer - Day Shifts (Southern Suburbs)

    Duties include but is not limited to the following:

    The Senior Carer is responsible according to the approved care plan by directly providing practical, physical, social and emotional care for residents at the healthcare centre. Senior Carers contribute to the creation of a therapeutic and relaxing environment within the healthcare facility, ensuring the dignity of residents are maintained at all times. 

    Administration & Reporting

    • Chart and timestamp all activities on ECP as per procedure
    • Report to Duty Sister any changes or causes of concern in a resident’s condition

    Patient Care (according to care plan)

    • Attend to all activities as per the ECP care plan per resident and chart activity accordingly, including but not limited to personal hygiene, incontinence, dress, feeding and companionship
    • Maintain safe and therapeutic environment for all residents in terms of care plan and their personal diagnosis

    Company Policies & Procedures

    • Maintain awareness, understanding and adherence to company rules, policies and procedures
    • Treat all residents with respect and dignity

    Infection Control

    • Comply to all company policies and procedures regarding infection control
    • Maintain good personal hygiene as per the relevant policies and procedures

    Health & Safety

    • Comply with company health and safety standards in terms of activities of work
    • Be aware of duty of care and measures to protect vulnerable residents
    • Report any health and safety contraventions to the Duty Sister

    Activities & Exercise

    • Assist OT with the daily OT sessions
    • Assist the Carer Team Leader with Carer run activities

    Requirements

    Education and Qualifications:

    • Acknowledged Carer training from reputable organisation advantageous 
    • SETA accreditation will be an advantage

    Experience

    • Proven experience as a Carer or experience in a similar environment 

    Skills and Knowledge:

    • Skilled in basic computer knowledge
    • Knowledge of caring principles in caring for the aged, this includes:
    • Core carer competency skills
    • Dementia care
    • Palliative care
    • Rehabilitative care
    • Good interpersonal and communication skills
    • Work well with the elderly and have compassion for caring for them
    • Work well within a team and independently 
    • Able to work under pressure
    • Be accepting of change within the role of caring, as the need arises
    • Maintain positive relationships with all (resident, families, colleagues)
    • Have the ability to make good decisions, think objectively, make decisions and prevent medico-legal risks

    Assistant Carer Supervisor - Noordhoek

    Duties include but is not limited to the following:

    The Assistant Carer Supervisor will ensure that the residents receive the highest standard of care, assist the Carer Supervisor in supporting and guiding the carer team in their day-to-day performance of their jobs. You will also contribute to fostering positive relationships between staff and management and act in a supervisory capacity in the absence of the Carer Supervisor or as operationally required.

    QUALITY CONTROL

    • Participate in the handover process to/from the opposite shift and communicating all observations regarding residents
    • Assist the Carer Supervisor with staff allocation, providing input as required
    • Completion of the Emergency list for Fire & Evacuation Safety in the absence of the Carer Supervisor and reporting all maintenance issues immediately
    • Complete admission and discharge checklists
    • Assists the carer team with day to duties and ensuring the team adheres to infection control measures
    • Provide on the job training and demonstrating corrective measures 
    • Ensuring at that end of each shift that all carer equipment is clean and neatly stored in designated areas

    ADMINISTRATION AND REPORTING

    • Ensure charting times correlate to when tasks are done and that all documentation is complete
    • Ensure all concerns regarding patients are reported to the Shift Leader and documented in the ECP progress notes

    PATIENT CARE (ACCORDING TO CARE PLAN)

    • Ensure all activities as per care plan is done and charted 
    • Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment is created for all residents and that the care plan is up to date with the needs of the resident
    • Ensure appropriate activities are being carried out in different areas and that caregivers are actively involved

    COMPANY POLICIES  AND PROCEDURES

    • Ensuring compliance, understanding and adherence to company policies and procedures

     INFECTION CONTROL

    • Ensure infection control policies and procedures are  followed and adhered to
    • Ensure good personal hygiene maintained for all Carers
    • Adherence to the Uniform policy

    HEALTH AND SAFETY

    • Ensure all company policies and procedures are adhered to in terms of health and safety
    • Ensure all contraventions reported to the Shift Leader before the end of shift

     ACTIVITIES AND  EXERCISE 

    • Allocate carers to assist with OT daily sessions

    SUPERVISION

    • Responsible to act in the absence of the Carer Supervisor
    • Take on full scope of duties allocated by the Carer Supervisor

    Education and qualifications:

    • Acknowledged Carer Training from a reputable organization
    • SETA accreditation will be an advantage
    • Grade 10 - 12
    • Minimum 2 years experience working as a carer
    • Previous supervisory experience

    Skills and Knowledge : 

    • To assist in the day to day running of the team, under direction of the Carer Supervisor
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    • Strong, accurate computer and administration skills

    Senior Cabling Technician (ISP)

    Duties will include but are not limited to the following:

    • Conduct daily, weekly and monthly node & node room inspections
    • Provide documentation of all information of cabling, routers, and switches
    • Ensure improvisation upon existing installations and infrastructure
    • Checking of cabinets in the MMR / node rooms including cabling, routers, switches, UPS etc
    • Labelling & documenting of network equipment
    • Crimping of cat5 / cat6 cabling
    • Report faults in the MMR / Node Rooms to the line manager
    • Performs cable installations, including new commercial cat5 / cat6 cabling
    • Ensure that installations are completed to standard 
    • Troubleshoot cabling a layer 1 networks
    • Installation of routers and switches
    • Liaising with customers during last mile installations 
    • Installation of wireless radios
    • Documenting all areas of work in relevant reporting guideline 
    • Voip phone installations 

    Qualifications

    • Matric
    • Electrical qualification advantageous
    • FTTH training and certifications advantageous

    Experience and knowledge

    • Proven experience in similar role
    • Experience installing CAT5, CAT6, fibre.
    • Crimping of cables in according to standards
    • Experience working with maintenance and upkeep of server room and Node rooms
    • Proficient in fault finding using OTDR, CAT5/6 testers and fibre laser fault finders.
    • Experience using Ge-Bex and BiDi fibre modules.
    • Installing and alignment of wireless dishes.
    • General understanding on inspection of mast / brackets
    • Basic uUnderstanding of FNO & ISP industry SLA’s for both residential and commercial services, in order to understand the urgency with the networks being worked on and impact thereto.
    • Understanding of standard procurement processes and approvals in accordance with the Telecommunications industry and ability to interact and manage this process when dealing with service providers (contractors) and suppliers of equipment.
