    Business Analyst - BI (Finance)

    We are seeking a talented and motivated Business Analyst to join our Business Intelligence team at Cape Union Mart International (Pty) Ltd. As a Business Analyst, you will play a crucial role in gathering, analyzing, and translating business needs into actionable insights. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing data-driven recommendations to drive strategic business decisions.

    Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand and document their requirements for reporting and analysis.
    • Gather, analyse, and translate stakeholder requirements into project plans.
    • Act as a liaison between the BI team and business stakeholders.
    • Design and implement project management processes and best practices within the BI team.
    • Develop and maintain project documentation, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
    • Provide regular project status updates to key stakeholders.
    • Design and develop dashboards and reports to visualize key performance indicators (KPIs) and track business metrics.
    • Along with the rest of the BI team, collaborate closely with other departments to ensure accuracy and completeness of data used in the BI space and the reflection thereof in reporting.
    • Perform ad-hoc analysis and provide insights to support decision-making processes.
    • Participate in the development and implementation of business intelligence tools and systems.
    • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in business intelligence and data analytics.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field.
    • Proven experience as a Business Analyst or similar role, preferably in a retail environment.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into actionable insights.
    • Proficient in SQL and experience working with databases.
    • Familiarity with business intelligence tools such as Qliksense, Power BI, or similar.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
    • Detail-oriented with a commitment to data accuracy and quality.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
    • Having previously worked in an agile environment would be beneficial.

    IT Functional Analyst / Business Analyst

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Conduct functional analysis across our ecommerce sites, order management system and CRM system, to identify business requirements and define functional specifications.
    • Work with cross-functional teams including business stakeholders, IT, and vendors to design and implement solutions that meet business requirements.
    • Collaborate with end-users to identify issues and develop solutions that address their needs.
    • Ensure documentation and training materials are up-to-date to support end-users and future system changes.
    • Stay current on industry trends and advancements.
    • Perform and assume technical leadership for the configuration, with support from 3rd party vendors
    • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand and document requirements for system changes or improvements.
    • Develop functional specifications, use cases, and system workflows to support project development.
    • Work closely with IT development teams to implement solutions that meet business requirements.
    • Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure solutions meet business needs.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to systems.
    • Provide ongoing support and maintenance for order management processes and data systems.

    Requirements:

    • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
    • 3+ years of experience in functional analysis of warehousing systems in retail.
    • Strong understanding of warehousing operations in retail.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS).
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
