    Senior Manager, Payments, TxB

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    • To drive Transaction Banking strategic and commercial payments intent within its countries of presence and across the various continental regions -  engage and influence the regulatory and compliance constructs (payments advocacy); build strong stakeholder relationships across market segments Business and Commercial Banking or  Personal and Private Banking et al through regular and structured engagements, positioning payments and collections visibility and building payments capability bench strength.

    JOB FUNCTIONS

    • Contribute to the formulation of commercialization plans & support the execution thereof
    • Drive projects and payments commercialisation objectives (Monthly and quarterly)
    • Provide SME expertise in future-proofing payment systems and commercialisation assessment and opportunity realisation
    • Develop and/or support a robust and commercially viable approach to the payments domain strategies.Provides input on payment systems strategic direction as guided by the TxB strategic intent, taking into consideration specific regulatory and industry involvement where necessary and/or guiding the in-country teams on interbank engagements
    • Recommended best practice payment structures that support industry, regulator and bank engagement
    • Drive and deliver the TxB agreed priority projects through the SAFe methodology including but not limited to industry projects (regulatory) and Standard Bank initiatives
    • Ensure proper governance compliance, and risk assessment is adhered to for any new payment initiative introduced in the markets as well as legal and commercial agreements in place with all partners engaged
    • Select appropriate functional professionals, capable of providing the essential support required for the countries to succeed. Provide thought and SME leadership across all segments
    • Works with Learning & Development (L&D) to produce specialised training material around payment system theory, including two-sided markets and interchange models, industry and regulator lobbying and negotiation skills; conduct and support payments training workshops, in line with TxB Skills Hub
    • Support the execution of country plans and actively participate in the modernization of payments via business lead support in payment architectural designs and regional modernization directive
    • Drive effective payment execution and processing.  Build effective relationships with senior stakeholders in technology, operations and finance.  Drive the payments risk management and governance processes in growth markets.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Requirements

    • Broadening the scope from AR to Group
    • Updating the various naming conventions (CNHW, etc,)
    • Adding a section which talks to owning and managing ongoing risks across the value chain (as opposed to just when new products are launched) in collaboration with the respective country product managers and enabling functions

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    • To embed the credit finance function within CIB Finance to collect, process, calculate and report on expected credit losses (ECL) and related disclosures, in a complete, timely and accurate manner and in line with applicable financial internal and external standards, rules, regulations and policies, in order to ensure enable business decision making.

    QUALIFICATIONS
