Job Description
The Logistics Manager is responsible for the effective coordination and planning of logistical activities according to the daily production- and order schedule, as well as the responsibility to manage and report stock levels and movements. The optimisation of loads, routes and personnel are essential to the success of this position whilst keeping up with the production and order demands.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years Logistic Management experience within the grain and feed supply chain environment.

- Scheduling vehicles in advance to optimise loads and routes productivity.
- Scheduling of bagging activity and loading frequency to optimise utilisation of bagging and loading teams.
- Working with the production and sales departments to ensure orders get out in time.
- Improve delivery efficiency by optimal load scheduling.
- Lower cost by ensuring transport rate negotiation and back load contracting.
- Communicate with transporters and internal departments to ensure timeous deliveries.
- Manage and schedule internal delivery drivers and vehicles as required.
- Ongoing communication with departments within the business, personnel, traders, clients, and contractors to give feedback with regards to deliveries.
