Reporting to the Institutional Planner, the successful applicant will be responsible for the following areas:

• Manage the strategic alignment and integration of grant proposals, and coordinate and oversee the implementation, monitoring and reporting of identified grants

• Build partnerships and manage engagements with key internal and external stakeholders 
• Conduct research and data analysis and keep abreast of key national and local issues that would impact the University's strategic aspirations and positioning.

• The successful candidate must have a Master's Degree at an NQF Level 9. 
• A minimum of 8 years' relevant management experience, preferably in a higher education environment.
• An in depth understanding of the South African Higher Education context.
• Proven experience in project management and the monitoring and reporting of implementation progress.

• To be part of a team responsible for the analysis, design, build, test, deployment and customisation of bespoke as well commercial applications. The incumbent will further be responsible for providing maintenance and support in respect of these applications.

The key role and responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to: 

• Participate in Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) phases especially solution design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance of applications and solutions,

• The university seeks to appoint a skilled, resourceful and dynamic individual to assist the Director: Infrastructure and Engineering to manage its large infrastructure-related projects. The successful applicant will oversee and manage projects for new Infrastructure Development at UWC, and ensure the delivery of projects on-time and within budget, from Concept to Close Out.
