    Manager, Structured Products, Africa Regions

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    • To originate, structure and sell cross-asset Global Markets (GM) Structured Products to clients across Africa Regions in order to meet client needs, achieve annual sales targets and deliver exceptional client experience in line with the GM Client Africa & International Sales strategy and defined risk parameters and regulatory requirements.

    Essential Functions

    • Sales – Originate, structure and sell cross asset GM Structured Products to clients across and into Africa Regions. Demonstrate a proficient understanding of Structured Products to effectively communicate product benefits and features and address client and/ or other internal stakeholder requests and queries.
    • Client Management - Prepare client presentations, trade ideas and other information required for client engagement. Deliver relevant information in a confident and creative way, while ensuring swift and accurate information availability.
    • Maintain regular contact with clients to assess and understand their requirements, broaden existing relationships and grow the Africa Regions client base.
    • Client Engagement - Identify the needs of clients across Africa Regions and actively pursue sales opportunities, assisting clients in selecting appropriate and suitable products given their needs and ensuring seamless execution and exceptional client experience.
    • Product Development – Structure and develop new products and solutions to meet client needs across Africa Regions.
    • Collaboration - Liaise with partners across Global Markets, Client Coverage, Investment Banking and TXB to identify new/cross selling opportunities.
    • Market development – To work with Head, Structured Products, Africa Regions in positioning Standard Bank as the market leader for Structured Products across Africa Regions through market development events, seminars, conferences, etc
    • Cross border support – Assist and support cross border teams in originating, pricing and execution of Structured Products.
    • People development - Train and/ or guide less experienced team members across Africa Regions on Structured Products so that they can appropriately meet client needs.
    • Revenue Tracking & Reporting - Take ownership and accountability for recording, tracking and/or submission of the client data and transactions for your area of responsibility to ensure that all transactions are recorded and flow through to our financials accurately. Assist in monitoring financial performance and preparation of month end reports to support effective performance monitoring and achievement of Africa and International Sales budget.
    • Client service - Receive client inquiries and complaints and resolve these as per standard operating procedures or escalate to more experienced team members and/ or Client Experience teams to resolve. Follow up with appropriate operations teams to ensure that client issues are resolved in a timely manner.
    • Digital Innovation - Gain an understanding of digital initiatives, GM digital strategy and regulatory standards to provide support on the digitalisation rollout.
    • Market Trends - Research changes in market conditions, sector trends, regulations, product developments, and client insights. Capture, collate, analyse and/ or summarise relevant documents, data and information from various sources.
    • Client onboarding - Onboard clients in collaboration with Client Experience and Operations to ensure a positive client experience.
    • Compliance & Conduct - Implement applicable policies, systems, processes and procedures to ensure compliance with CIB's risk and regulatory framework and fulfilment of all relevant risk and business control requirements. Drive and maintain a high level of conduct and compliance culture.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Field of Study: Preferably Business Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Actuarial Science, Mathematics or Law. Other fields may be considered.
