    Regional Assistant

    What will you do?

    An exciting position has become available for a Regional Assistant to the Head of Broker Services North. The successful incumbent will be based at the Centurion office.

    WHAT WILL YOU DO?

    The incumbent will play a key role in supporting the Head of Broker Services North, Regional Managers and relevant staff in the division. The incumbent may be required to handle confidential documents and information requiring utmost discretion.

     

    What will make you successful in this role?

    The candidate will be expected to perform (but not limited to) the following secretarial duties:

    • Managing diaries, screen incoming calls and correspondence and respond independently when possible.
    • Employee administration (record keeping), general administration (orders, accounts and payments).
    • Liaising with external business partners.
    • Arranging and coordinating all meetings.
    • Preparing of presentations.
    • Ordering office supplies.
    • Ordering marketing material.
    • Arranging detailed travel plans and itineraries, compiling documents for travel-related meetings.
    • Arranging events or conferences by organising for facilities and catering, issuing information or invitations, coordinating speakers and controlling event budget.
    • Forging strong relationships with internal staff.
    • Assist with new recruit on-boarding and decommissioning
    • Directing preparation of records such as agendas, notices, minutes and resolutions for meetings, including minute taking.
    • Monthly budget management and reconciliations.

    Qualifications And Experience

    • Grade 12 with a secretarial diploma/qualification or relevant qualification
    • 3 - 5 years related experience as a personal assistant
    • Computer literate - MS Office
    • Knowledge of short-term insurance advantageous

    Underwriting Assistant: Financial Lines

    What will you do?

    This career opportunity is available at SHA Risk Specialists a division of Santam for the Underwriting Assistant: Financial Lines, who will be based in Johannesburg: Illovo.

    What will make you successful in this role?

    Underwriting Assistance

    • Draw monthly renewal list.
    • Check claims experience.
    • Send out renewal invitations / reminders.
    • Follow up on invitations / renewals and secondary follow ups on new business.
    • Assist with the administrative underwriting duties.
    • Attend to all system processing related functions within the underwriting area.

    Policy Administration

    • Data capturing of policy schedules and all related documentation e.g., endorsements and facultative slips.
    • All administration related to policies including raising invoices etc.

    Client Liaison (Internal and External)

    • Respond to queries and resolve to the satisfaction of the affected parties within the scope of authority and / or responsibility.
    • Provision of telephonic backup and answering services to the division.
    • Handle credit control queries and errors
    • Continuously monitor quality and accuracy of the documents and KIT records produced by the system
    • Prepare for and attend meetings if and when required.

    General Administration

    • Handling accounts queries.
    • Drawing of standard reports if and when required.
    • Attend to daily administrative routine tasks in accordance with organisational standards, processes and procedures.
    • Liaison with Santam finance department and brokers to resolve credit control issues and accounts issues.
    • Attend to daily administrative routine tasks in accordance with organisational standards, processes and procedures.
    • Attend to the typing of general correspondence if and when necessary, such as endorsements and cover letters.
    • The underwriting assistant in this role also has the opportunity to learn the backend of the Pocket Underwriter to continuously improve the user experience of each broker.

    Qualification and Experience

    • Matric
    • Insurance related qualification or current studies a preference
    • Insurance related experience a preference (1-2 years)
