    Research Administrator

    MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

    To conduct both general administrative support to the MCSA research coordinator and committee as well as research governance tasks and administration for specific project areas within the research office.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

    • Provide administrative support to the Research function
    • Maintain a research database and web page of all research activities within MCSA
    • Correspond with clinicians, researchers, academic institutions, and study sponsors to ensure efficient processing of research applications, agreements and letters

    REQUIRED EDUCATION

    ESSENTIAL EDUCATION

    • Secretarial or other relevant qualification

    DESIRED EDUCATION

    • Health or research related qualification
    • Research methodologies and good clinical practice training

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

    ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

    • At least 3 years office administration experience
    • Practical experience of providing administrative support to research projects or in a research area

    DESIRED EXPERIENCE

    • Experience managing a clinical research register and ensuring research governance

    REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

    • Clinical Trials Management Systems and Electronic Data Capture
    • Database entry and spread sheet management
    • Excellent time management skills with the ability to handle the administration of projects within tight timeframes and perform under pressure
    • Knowledge of private healthcare sector and clinical research
    • Meeting management
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Teams and Zoom platforms for team communication and virtual meetings
    • Proficient computer skills, particularly MS Office software, spread sheets and databases, and web-based platforms
    • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Secretarial (Report formatting, meeting scheduling, agendas and minutes, diary management; and telephone)
    • SharePoint (surveys and access administration)
    • Website management
    • Writing, editing, and proofreading skills

    Care Worker

    MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

    • To support nursing unit staff in delivering safe and quality patient care that promotes and meets the healthcare needs of patients

    KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
    Support and assist nursing unit staff in the delivery of quality patient care within a team approach

    • Identify and report risks in line with hospital policies
    • Contribute to a positive patient experience through assisting the nursing unit staff
    • Provide administrative support to the nursing unit staff as specified
    • Contribute to a learning environment that builds staff competence by participating in continuous personal development
    • Ensure that required stock is utilised efficiently and accurately charged

    REQUIRED EDUCATION
    ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: An appropriate qualification as a Care Worker

    DESIRED EDUCATION: Grade 12

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

    • Essential minimum experience: Experience in a healthcare environment

    DESIRED EXPERIENCE: None 

    REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

    • Understanding of stock control principles
    • Reporting and documenting events / tasks
    • Knowledge of Medico,legal risks
    • Knowledge of administrative tasks

    MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

    • To deliver safe, quality nursing care according to the Scope of Practice

    KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

    • Deliver quality nursing care in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team
    • Identify, prevent and report risks to ensure patient safety
    • Facilitate a positive patient experience by creating a conducive environment
    • Provide accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions

    Required Education

    ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: Enrolled Nurse Certificate

    DESIRED EDUCATION: For specialised wards, CPD courses in specific speciality area

    DESIRED EXPERIENCE: 1 year post qualification experience before placement in a specialised unit
