    General Worker

    Description

    To ensure that all planned operational targets  and contractual obligation are met  in time and good quality.

    Also ensure that there is good housekeeping and operational excellence in their operational area .

    Requirements

    • Work with Team leader / Supervisor to achieve planned operational targets.
    • Test and record water parameters (Flow, pH, Conductivity, Ferrous Iron, TSS, TDS, NH3, Free chlorine, COD, Phosphate)
    • Inspections at Water Treatment and sampling
    •  Follow work instructions given by the Superior for any specific task in line with operational requirements .
    •  Assist with the problems solving on operational challenges and report any deviations to the immediate Supervisor.
    •  Adhering to discipline procedures in accordance with the Company’s Policies and Procedures.  
    • Always ensure good housekeeping and good teamwork .
    • Adhere to all Safety rules and regulations as per all safety legislation and company procedures.
    •   Report and record all incidents, breakdowns, near misses & sub-standards to superior.

    SHEQ Co-Ordinator- Northern Cape

    Description

    • The aim is to oversee SHEQ Co-ordination within BU, compile combine, reports, and manage all safety aspects
    • in order to deliver compliance towards internal and external environmental requirements.
    • To create an environment where duties can be performed safely and risks are known and managed.

    Requirements

    Policy, Targets, Objectives & Goals

    • Ensure that the current policies are displayed at all areas of the operation. Comply with the objectives, goals and targets set by the company.
    • Assist the BU manager to set up annual SHEQ targets & objectives for each BU.
    • Ensure all employees are made aware of policies, targets, objectives and goals.
    • Communicate policies, targets, objectives and goals with clients as per internal and external client requirement.

    Legal Aspects/Requirements

    • Ensure company practices comply with legal and other requirements falling in the risk management domain.
    • Give on-going report on legislative and other amendments relevant to the risk domain and comply as required.
    • Ensure submissions of applicable statutory documents. Ensure that all employees are made aware of the latest legislative requirements.
    • Ensure that necessary legal and other appointments are made and maintained in the area of responsibility.
    • Advise management / appointees of the roles, responsibilities and duties in terms of risk management.
    • Establish a working relationship with regulatory bodies (DME, Dept of Labour, etc).

    Training

    • Assist in managing training interventions to equip all employees to have the necessary skills to be competent to perform their roles with the least amount of risk possible.
    • Form part of the training initiatives of the company to improve employees understanding of the risk management systems.

    Special Projects

    • Establish a Project Plan for each special project.
    • Provide ongoing feedback to management on the project.
    • Review the project at the end of the project to ensure continual approval.

    Risk Assessment

    • Ensure that the necessary risk assessments and action plans are compiled, maintained and reviewed.
    • Assist and advise staff in meeting requirements of the risk management process.
    • Conduct risk awareness sessions and advise management risk status of the BU.

    Monitoring and Evaluation

    • Compile necessary planning documents to effectively execute job requirements posed by the risk management domain.
    • Regularly perform risk audits as per requirements.
    • Create risk management awareness by making use of the appropriate media.
    • Monitor the medical status of employees.
    • Manage employee health exposure levels within acceptable limits.
    • Monitor environmental compliance and implement action plans.
    • Monitor quality control compliance and actions to address deviations.

    Reporting, Recording and/or Review

    • Submit monthly reports as required. Report all incidents to the responsible individuals as per company procedure.
    • Report on WCA status on a monthly basis. Regularly inform management of the risk status of the areas of responsibility.
    • Record all incident statistics as per requirement. Record all incident information as per requirement.

    Requirements

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Any of the below

    • National Diploma in Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Management
    • Degree will be advantageous
    • Bcom Risk Management
    • BA Safety and disaster Manager
    • NEBOSH DIPLOMA/Any UK Level 6 Diploma
    • SAMTRAC, COMSOC 1 and 2, ISO  45001:2018 Implementation

    EXPERIENCE

    • At least 3 years’ experience in a mining & construction safety environment as a safety Officer or similar.
    • Knowledge of the OHS act, Mine Health and Safety Act.

    SKILLS, QUALITIES  AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

    • Must be an expert in safety orientation
    • Must have an advanced understanding of legislation & policy orientated
    • Must have a good understanding of managing relationships
    • Must have an advanced understanding communicating effectively

    Junior Operations Supervisor

    Description

    This position exists to support the Tailings Operations through efficient HR  Management delivery, by maintaining and enhancing the divisions’ human resources function through strong planning, implementation of employee relations and human resources policies, programs and practices as well as all strategic projects including our leading Talent Management initiatives.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Operate Site

    • Allocate and schedule resources (Plant/Materials/Labour).
    • Identify risks associated with resources and take and preventative measures.
    • Execute deposition or mining plan as per the operating procedure and Code of Practice for  the Tailings Storage facility.
    •  Ensure handover on activities or shifts is properly done and that daily or shift production targets are met.
    • Records and report to Superintendent / Senior Superintendent on daily progress or events.
    • Supervise the sub-contractors or plant hire works and report on status and progress.
    • Report on resources efficiencies.
    • Uphold the company standards and policy to maintain high quality of service. 

    Maintain Safety

    • Ensure proper housekeeping and use of appropriate PPE at all times.
    • Prevent staff injuries and other incidents.
    • Report and assist on formulating corrective measures against all substandard acts and conditions.
    • Ensure that risk assessments are conducted prior all activities.
    • Conduct the time and attendance on all staff.
    • Conduct Planned Task and observation on the daily basis.

    Financial and Cost Control

    • Supervise and report availability and utilization of people and machinery (Including mobile plant).
    • Control the material and equipment issue and maintain proof of issuing.
    • Control and maintain overtime within the requirements and rooster.

    Supervise Staff

    • Coach the staff to create knowledge and experience.
    • Ensure that company’s disciplinary and grievance policies and procedures are property applied to your sub-ordinates.
    • Motivate staff to achieve buy-in on the decision made and improve productivity and efficiency. Communicate performance standards to your subordinate.
    • Track and improve performance/production against targets.
    • Correct poor performance through counselling, coaching and discipline.

    Marketing and Client Relationship Management (CRM)

    • Promote the image of the company by maintaining discipline at all time.
    • Build and promote good relationship with client representatives.
    • Records and communicate all client instructions and requirements on the daily basis with the Superintendent.
    • Attend all clients meeting as requested or instructed by the Superintendent

    Requirements

    QUALIFICATIONS

    •  Grade 12, Supervisory Qualification or Relevant Qualification
    •  Basic Tailings Course, Basic Water Management, Basic Re-mining Course.

    EXPERIENCE

    •  More than 2-3 years experience in fields of operation.
