    Senior Professional Officer

    Requirements

    • A Degree within a Property or Legal related field
    • Five (5) to eight (8) years’ relevant experience in a
    • Property or Property law environment.
    • Supervision of staff would be advantageous
    • Knowledge of Local Government and Property Industry legislation, policies and procedures
    • Good communication and report writing skills
    • Ability to negotiate and influence
    • Advanced computer literacy
    • A valid driver’s licence

    Key Performance Areas

    • Supervise and execute the function of the acquisition of immovable property and rights in immovable property
    • Facilitate and implement the allocation of all relevant resources
    • Supervise and execute the administration
    • Effective financial control of the allocated function
    • Provide immovable property advice to guide and influence acquisition decisions
    • Implement section and department communication strategy
    • Perform functions in an acting Capacity

    FINANCE Professional Valuer

    Requirements

    • A relevant Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Property Studies/Real Estate.
    • At least five years property valuation experience while registered with the South African Council for the Property Valuers Profession.
    • Computer literacy.
    • A valid Code EB driver’s license.
    • Registered with the South African Council for the Property Valuers Profession as a Professional Valuer or Professional Associated Valuer.

    Key Performance Areas

    • Coordinates the professional execution of valuations in a defined geographic area.
    • Represents the City at Valuation Board hearings.
    • Communicates professional knowledge with external customers.
    • Oversees junior valuation staff and contractors.
    • Supervises and coordinates the collection, correction and analysis of valuation data in a defined geographic area.

    Senior Professional Officer - Data Visualisation Engineer

    Requirements
    The Data Science branch forms part of the Organisational
    Performance.Management department in the Future Planning &
    Resilience directorate, and is responsible for the City’s data science
    initiatives. We are looking for a data visualisation engineer who is
    comfortable working with open source front end technologies to
    bring data concepts to life and is motivated to learn and acquire
    knowledge.
    The position will work on diverse data science initiatives across the
    organisation, developing user facing data products that help
    improve
    the organisations strategic and operational decision-making. This is
    an exciting opportunity to work with a highly-skilled and dynamic
    team and make a difference to the lives of all residents in Cape
    Town.

    • A relevant qualification (BTech or first degree), preferably in computer science, web development, information systems or related field
    • Minimum of five (5) years’ relevant experience

    Key Performance Areas

    • Front end Development: To design, write, and iterate data visualisation code from prototype to production-ready by using open source frontend technologies to bring data concepts to life
    • Data Integration Design: To develop fit-for-purpose, resilient, scalable, and future-proof data services to meet user needs which include the design and development of programmatic functionalities (APIs)
    • Testing: To plan, design, manage, execute, and report, tests relevant to user facing data products, using appropriate tools and techniques, working within testing regulations
    • Maintain and Support: To ensure the data product is functioning optimally, i.e. debug detected errors, and troubleshoot issues
    • Monitoring: To monitor the progress and success of data products by automatic monitoring
    •  Project Collaboration: To collaborate with technical andnon-technical officials
    • Research, Analysis and Innovation: To conduct research in various areas for the purpose of innovation, and with the intent of constantly, proactively improving the data products.

    Transport Planning Authority Officer

    Requirements

    • Grade 12
    • Minimum of 2 to 3 years’ public transport or regulatory experience
    • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint);
    • Experience with Transport Survey Management System (TSMS) and Public Transport Regulation System (PTRS) would be advantageous;
    • Effective interpersonal and communication skills;
    • In-depth public transport planning and regulatory knowledge; and
    • Knowledge of the National Land Transport Act, Act 5 of 2009 (NLTA) and other applicable transport legislation
    • Willingness to work in different geographic locations in and outside of normal office hours at times.
    • Compliance with Impartiality Clause, Section 13(1)(c) of the National Land Transport Act,Act 5 of 2009

    Key Performance Areas

    • Interpret and analyse relevant legislation, regulations, transport policies, standard
    • Operating procedures and statutory plans and apply them correctly and effectively;
    • Receive operating licence applications and formulate required direction letters and submissions within prescribed statutory time frames;
    • Engage with a variety of internal and external stakeholders;
    • Network and build effective relationships and partnerships within and across the
    • organization as well as with external stakeholders;
    • Assist with implementation of projects and initiatives; and
    • General administration
