    Human Capital Internship 2023

    Description

    • This one-year internship programme at our SA Operations manufacturing sites (Gqeberha and East London) will provide candidates with an opportunity to gain workplace experience, knowledge and skills related to the human capital department in a pharmaceutical industry. The internship is highly relevant for practice as a human capital professional.

    SED Graduate Programme – Strategic Trade (On-Site)

    OBJECTIVE: 

    • The SED graduate will be employed on a graduate programme for 12 months to advance their skills with SED activities as the person chosen will have this as their primary interest.
    • The graduate will go through a robust training process whilst to a larger extent being exposed to ensuring that meaningful impactful contributions to the communities are realized through which we operate. They will be working under the guidance of an experienced CSI Manager.
    • This person would be exposed to the various departments within the CSI team in order to gain insight on the collaborative work required within the division. The second level of exposure would be to the Business in stages to align with the business support aspect of this role and understand where the role fits within the organisation.

    As a graduate you will be exposed to the following:

    • Process payments for SED (Social Economic Development) initiatives and programs
    • Liaise with the finance department to ensure timely payment of invoices and tracking of expenses
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all SED activities and initiatives
    • Provide administrative support to the SED team as needed, including preparing reports, managing files, and organizing events
    • Schedule and coordinate meetings and events related to SED activities
    • Assist in drafting and proofreading documents, including reports and presentations
    • Collaborate with other departments within the organization to ensure effective coordination of SED initiatives
    • Perform other administrative tasks as needed to support the SED team.
    • Assistance on work whilst learning.
    • Accompanying meetings to generate minutes and distribution of actionable points to relevant stakeholders etc.
    • Generating simple reports

    Requirements
    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

    • Interest in social responsibility, community development, and/or philanthropy
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, such as Excel and PowerPoint
    • Excellent skills in effective communication verbally and in writing with diverse groups including key business associates (executive level) and technical associates.

    Master Planner

    Overview

    • Manage the Production Planning processes, outputs and resources to ensure customer OTIF and enhanced customer satisfaction within operation budgets
    • Medium term production optimisation and shift planning
    • Manage and guide IBP process.
    • Optimise Factory utilisation, Demand-, Inventory-and Supply parameters with customer.

    Responsibilities

    Master Planning

    • Manage the creation of a factory wide masterplan, including production schedule, maintenance, laboratory, QA/QC, Warehouse and MRP across the value chain.
    • Balance demand and supply effectively to achieve strategic goals.
    • Provide “what if” capacity and schedule analysis for changing demand, staffing constraints, and new customer project awards.
    • Plan to minimise effects of resource constraints.
    • Develop and oversee capacity planning activities for sales and operations planning, master scheduling, marketing application timelines, materials requirement planning, detailed scheduling.
    • Suggest batch size changes, re-routing of products and outsourcing/ purchasing of additional equipment, as required.
    • Optimise parameters across the value chain to unlock value.
    • Ensure that all units are aligned to produce an optimised plan.

    Planning coordination and reporting

    • Manage, prepare and facilitate the monthly supply point reviews for your specific unit.
    • Drive the adherence to key KPIs including budgeted, planned and actual OTIF, ATP, Schedule adherence and recoveries.
    • Work with production supervisors and managers for optimal efficiency to meet the needs of internal and external customers.
    • Assess and report on manpower requirements.
    • Assist the creation of SKU, work centre and labour matrix to allow for optimisation when demand or supply changes.
    • Ensure change controls are actioned appropriately.
       

    Risk and Controls

    • Monitor sales against forecast volumes, identifying at-risk products.
    • Identify supply deficits, over-scheduling, capacity constraints and under-loaded schedules and highlight recoveries-related financial risks and critical materials shortages.
    • Ensure delivery terms are met and that correct documentation accompanies consignments.
    • Input into routings, inventory policies and related pertinent processes

    Planning optimisation

    • Develop and manage data from all value chain units to create optimisation and simulation ability.
    • Work with the analytics team to continuously improve our ability to drive key KPIs.

    Requirements
    Skills required

    Background/experience

    • 5 to 10 years’ experiencein a Supply Chain, Procurement or Planning role
    • Experience in a pharmaceutical/FMCG manufacturing environment
    • 3 year degree in Procurement, Logistics or Engineering,or a related discipline

    Specific job skills

    • Computer literacy: proficiency in Excel, Word, Powerpointand ERP system
    • Solid understanding of S&OP/IBP
    • Scenario planning, optimisation and/or simulation experience
    • End to end understanding of Supply Chain operations in Plan, Source, Make and Deliver.
