    Senior Specialist: I&S Change Management and Reporting

    Job Summary

    • We are looking for a strong continuous improvement specialist who will be accountable for supporting and facilitating the change management and reporting capability within Financial Crime Intelligence and Surveillance (I&S) to meet our strategic objectives. A successful candidate will facilitate conversations between senior leadership, employees, and external stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement to improve business processes and systems. The incumbent will also take part in coaching junior leaders on how best to handle their own roles as well as assist them with the planning of future change initiatives in conjunction with project and the financial crime change team. A successful candidate will report directly to the Head of Intelligence and Surveillance – Business Optimisation.

    Job Description

    Management Reporting, Communication, and Business Support

    • Supporting I&S with ad-hoc and routine official comms to various stakeholders in the business. This includes developing and distributing appropriate communication materials (e.g., departmental and stakeholder updates, newsletters, minutes, etc.)
    • Supporting the people management agenda of I&S
    • Driving team skills development across all the I&S teams
    • Assist with team mobility progammes and working with hiring managers to close vacancies
    • Supporting the Head of I&S Optimisation with co-ordinating the responses for information for adhoc and scheduled regulatory submissions i.e., monthly, and quarterly risk assessments, SARB Prudential Meetings, Board requests, Country Board / Regulatory Requests, and managing various submissions for internal and external senior management engagements across I&S
    • Drive coordination of team strategy and objectives with monthly updates to the scorecard
    • Working with external bodies and coordinating I&S efforts and inputs into those joint working groups

    Continuous Business Improvement

    • Determine measurement approaches, methodologies, and metrics to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of changes implemented across I&S (including analyzing the impact of the change on all impacted stakeholders)
    • Assesses whether a change has been successful and communicates results to support teams and senior management.
    • Work closely with Financial Crime Change Team to develop I&S specific detailed change & release documentation & communication plan sacross the change & release lifecycle (reflecting the scope of the changes, risks & risk implications of proposed changes, prioritization, schedules, resource requirements, roles & responsibilities, integration points, quality assurance processes, monitoring parameters and processes etc. This will be done across the change & release lifecycle (pre-during-post change & release)
    • Design and coordinate employee surveys, facilitate focus groups and produce reports to summarize findings and offer recommendations of I&S development initiatives that support organizational and system performance improvement
    • Develop and design organizational development interventions to effectively manage conflict, build teams, create change agility and build culture that is aligned to the department’s strategic objectives
    • Develop and implement appropriate performance management policies, systems and procedures that will ensure quality performance planning and development practices across the department including the development/recommendation of optimal enabling technologies for the management of performance.
    • Develop and implement competency Framework in line with the department’s vision and strategy
    • Identify areas requiring improvement with the change management process and its implementation
    •  Troubleshoot and document potential issues related to change implementation, such as delay or incorrect results and work with the I&S risk manager to ensure all risks are mitigated and documented appropriately
    • Work closely with operations and other groups to minimize obstacles to implementing changes
    • Report to the Management team on a regular basis regarding impact, successes, issues, and risks.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, IT, Project Management and Business Management
    • 7 to 10 years' experience in large scale complex business programme change management environment
    • Experience in the implementation of change programs including project management and coaching skills - necessary.
    • A strong understanding of change management, project management, and business processes is required
    • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, able to develop executive-level presentations
    •  Exceptional senior stakeholder management skills
    • Strong Multimedia experience - ability to put together visually appealing communication deliverables (from posters and 1-page briefs to shot clips and videos) - advantageous
    •  Ability to apply change management toolkits e.g., ADKAR in change management planning & execution
    • Experience in facilitating senior-level meetings to surface and resolve sensitive issues and drive alignment
    • Experience in coaching senior management on change management deliverables
    • Excellent computer literacy, especially in the Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS teams) and survey tools
    • Industry, organizational and business awareness knowledge, and skill
    • Understanding of strategic project lifecycle and environment; and solid understanding of change activities and processes on large projects/programmers.

    Education

    • Bachelor Honours Degree: Law, Military Science and Security (Required)

    Sector Banker : Agriculture

    Job Summary

    • Agriculture is a key and strategic area for growth for Absa. As such Absa is desirous to expand its considerable client base in the Western Cape, where an opportunity exists for an energetic and self-starting deal maker and relationship banker to become part of the Corporate and Investment Bank Agricultural Sector Coverage team. The successful candidate will have the following abilities and qualifications;
    • Strong and proven deal making and risk mitigation skills,
    • The ability to apply strong banking skills (product, risk mitigation, pricing ) in the secondary agricultural market
    • A good knowledge and interest in agricultural and commodity trends from a macro perspective – note that we are not looking at an agricultural production specialist, but a banker that can ply his/her trade in the agricultural market. 
    • Strong analytical abilities, 
    • The ability to engage and influence stakeholders internally and externally at a senior level.
    • Qualifications ; Post Graduate Commercial degree (Finance, economics would be preferable)
    • Bilingual ( English/Afrikaans)

    Job Description

    Managing and expanding a portfolio of corporate agricultural clients, with a key focus on the following:

    • Identifying and converting opportunities that fit into the CIB target market
    • Assisting with the evaluation, risk mitigation and presentation of banking opportunities in the target market through the internal approval processes.
    • Evaluating and giving input into credit submissions.
    • Compilation and distribution of relevant sector research – trends, market performances, etc.
    • Relationship management with a focus on client transactional and funding solutions, with a strong emphasis on implementation of the Absa client value proposition.
    • Maintaining internal stakeholder relationships with Product, Credit and Coverage.  

    Education

    • Bachelors Degree and Professional Qualifications: Business, Commerce and Management Studies (Required)
