    Assistant Finance Officer: General Accounts

    As an Assistant Finance Officer: General Accounts, you will be responsible for:

    • Process customer payments timeously according to information received.
    • Verify customer payments and general processing requests are adequately approved and within the limits of authority as per the authorised signatories list.
    • Compare the General ledger balance with the bank statement and ensure automatic bank statement uploads are correct, If not, investigate and correct.
    • Allocate bank statement entries to the correct general ledger accounts and ensure sub-accounts on SAP are cleared timeously.
    • Prepare weekly spreadsheet analysis from the bank statements, listing all transactions and allocate them to correct categories (i.e., SARS payments, Creditor’s payments, payroll, intercompany, etc.) and forward to Treasury
    • Liaise with all units at month end regarding running consignment stock reports.
    • Process journals for any quantity or price differences.
    • Assist with the creation of minor vendors and changes to trade vendors.

    What are we looking for?

    • Grade 12 while an Accounting Diploma or Degree would be considered advantageous
    • 2 years’ experience in an Accounting position
    • Intermediate Excel skills
    • SAP FI experience

    Finance Officer: Payroll

    • Global Business Services is on the lookout for an experienced Finance Officer: Payroll to maintain sound payroll governance and ensure standard operating procedures are adhered to and prepare journal entries, reconciliation and payment schedules in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards and in accordance with Sappi Limited and its subsidiaries policies and procedures.

    As Finance Officer : Payroll, you will be responsible for:

    • Responsible for preparing payment schedules in accordance with Legal, regulatory and Statutory standard to third parties in accordance to agreed payment terms whilst considering the cash flow implications. These include, but not limited to medical aid, provident or pension fund contributions, PAYE, SDL and UIF.
    • Preparation of Payroll vendor, customer and GL reconciliations.
    • Extracting reports or generating financial information for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Assist with the regulatory tax submissions as required.
    • Assist the Payroll Department in the optimisation of systems and resources in relation to the Payroll Finance related functions.
    • Responsible for the Garnishee process.
    • Preparation of Payroll journals including accruals, account clearings and initial proposal of General Ledger allocations.
    • Responsible to submit all EFT payments to finance for processing.

    What are we looking for?

    • Grade 12 with relevant NQF level 5 qualification (Payroll / Finance)
    • Working towards a Payroll or Finance Diploma or Degree would be advantageous
    • Minimum 3 Years’ experience in a Payroll Administration with finance background
    • Sound knowledge of GAAP and IFRS
    • Sound knowledge of SAP Payroll Systems
    • Advanced Excel skills

    Master Technician - Hydraulics

    As a Master Technician: Hydraulics, you will be responsible for:

    • Responsible for the modification of hydraulic and lubrication systems by configuring new components and installation to standardise equipment as far as possible to meet production and engineering requirements.
    • Collaborates with others (e.g., contractors, vendors, etc.) for the purpose of implementing and maintaining services.
    • To ensure that plant modification requests are submitted for all system modifications and approved by the relevant Production and Engineering personnel, including filing of documentation at the Drawing Office for future reference.
    • Ensures drawings of plant hydraulic schematics, which are used for basic fault-finding, are updated timorously and correctly, and latest revision is filed at Drawing Office.
    • Responsible for the commissioning of hydraulic and lubrication systems, new or modified installations by making final connection to the plant according to production and engineering requirements and standards.
    • To ensure hydraulic / lubrication systems comply to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 system requirements.
    • As a result of investigations, creates/initiates, or updates drawings, recommends maintenance plans and procedures.
    • Responsible for oil sampling and implementation of recommendations as per oil sampling and analysis program.
    • Participate as team member in MDT team that carries out technical investigations regarding maintenance problems to close out failures on all Hydraulic / Lubrications related failures.
    • Carries out standby duties
    • Utilise all Sappi systems in the execution of the maintenance strategy and realization of the objectives (SAP, PS, PM,CO,RCA & Activity Manager).
    • Assist Maintenance Engineers with preparation of Maintenance budget.
    • Support MDT
    • Support Maintenance effort
    • Shut implementation and supervision

    What are we looking for?

    • NQF6: N. Diploma Engineering Studies
    • Recognised Fitter Trade certificate
    • Heavy industry experience – 3 to 5 years
    • 3 years hydraulic system and maintenance experience (Advantageous)
