Job Description

Join Lactalis South Africa at our offices in the Western Cape and take on the challenging role of Warehouse Specialist. In this role you, will work closely with the DC Management to support the WMS operation and drive picking optimisation and Warehouse productivity. You will develop and model productivity initiatives to determine the impact on Warehouse Operations, support and implement projects.

Required Skills

•  Relevant University degree, preferably in Supply Chain or Logistics
•  3-5 years’ warehouse management experience
•  A clear understanding of Warehouse Management either through study or experience
•  Ability to work independently or in a team
•  Demonstrate logical analysis and problem-solving skills through organization and prioritization (Ability to manipulate and understand data)
•  Demonstrate superior listening, written and oral communication skills, effectively and clearly communicates, reflecting an appropriate sense of urgency
•  Build and maintain productive relationships with cross-functional teams

 Computer Literacy:

•  MS Office (advanced Excel)
•  WMS Systems (Prefer Infolog but not essential)

Duties & Responsibilities

Monitor the day-to-day operations of the Warehouse Operations

•  Act as first line support to DC’s re any issues experience in Warehouse Management Systems
•  Monitor / assess / measure & optimize all warehouse activities – by analysing process flows and suggest changes
•  Understand debriefing process and interface with Recon and effects on Inventory and losses

DC Management Support & Budgets

•  Develop SOP’s, mentor, and support users of WMS (Infolog)
•  Ensure that cost budgets are met by increasing productivity, efficiencies and utilizing systems proficiently
•  Support DC & Warehouse Managers by evaluating daily activities (warehouse flow & storing)
•  Propose cost reduction initiatives while maintaining productivity
•  Monitor High Level KPI’s and identify corrective actions
•  Understand Warehouse Monthly book and KPI’s

Stock Loss

•  Monitor Stock Losses identify possible reasons or GAP’s and put actions plans in place to prevent future losses
•  Identify and implement opportunities to leverage the WMS system to improve inventory management and control

Master Data Accuracy

•  Ensure Material Master Data Accuracy, in ERP & WMS – Weights, Pallet Configuration etc.
•  Ensure Discontinued Items are maintained to avoid unnecessary trims

Social Systems

•  Sustain open communication lines with internal customers.
•  Analyse Reports and communicate within the specified timelines.
•  Attend all relevant social meetings to identify possible impact on Warehouse Operations, including New Product Development
•  Work in compliance with company policies and procedures.
•  Assist in risk assessment and mitigation activities
•  Manage and build relationships with IT
•  Support implementation of new Projects
