JOB DESCRIPTION

• L&AF Wage Clerk (Ashton, WC) - This position is responsible for the processing of LAF payroll documentation iro appointments, terminations, wage rate adjustments and time & attendance input.  The position is also responsible for generating reports iro leave, overtime and costing.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Offer support to the Payroll Coordinator by auditing the SACO daily, weekly, monthly submissions before payroll closure
• Process relevant documents timely and accurately, according to policies and procedures.
• Ensure a successful time-evaluation run for LAF employees to facilitate successful updates, deductions, and payments.
• Compile and draw relevant time & attendance reports; identify deviations and inform the respective Line Managers.
• Perform internal time & attendance audits on overtime, unpaid leave, late arrivals, etc.
• Provide team members and supervisors with assistance as and when required within area of competence.
• Respond to Departmental requests for individual timekeeping reports; provide detailed documentation to Departments regarding necessary corrections.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 2-3 years experience in a salary and wage office environment
• Matric/Gr12
• Payroll certification / membership advantageous
• Sage VIP Experience highly advantageous
• Computer literate – MS Office
• Very Good knowledge of Excel  
• Mathematical skills and figure orientated
