Transhipping and Distribution Manager at Engen

Purpose of the Job

• To ensure that transport vendors, which are critical to Engen's supply chain, are paid timeously and accurately and according to specific contractual terms. To oversee the Transhipping and Distribution (TD) account’s payable function and maintain and implement enhancements to the relevant systems with the objective of ensuring the completeness and accuracy of all accounting records and adherence to company policy

What you’ll have done before:
Baseline:

• NQF Level 7 qualification (Degree: Commerce) BCom Finance or BCom Accounting or equivalent
• At least 5 years’ experience in accounts payable or material management or sales and distribution. 
• At least 2 years in a management role.
• SAP experience in SAP FI/MM/SD
• Demonstrable strength and flair in financial accounting/IFRS
• Ability to work successfully in an ever-changing environment and navigate ambiguity
• Advantageous:
• Post-graduate qualification in Accounting 
• At 5 years’ experience in Accounts Payable environment
• Oil & gas experience

What you’ll be doing:

• To develop and maintain processes to support TD function; To review and analyse TD processes to ensure risks are identified and mitigated
• Ensure TD supplier reconciliations are performed and reviewed and meet required standards thereby ensuring agreement between Engen records and vendor records, highlighting anomalies and ensuring resolution, ultimately ensuring accurate accounting records.
• Ensuring that TD Vendors are paid as per their contractual terms, actively managing late payments, ensuring that there are no duplicate payments thereby ensuring accurate accounting records for Engen.
• Drive required to support business improvement processes/initiatives; Identify possible system enhancements and drive these with the Procure to Pay Manager thereby increasing automation levels and improving on quality of services offered.
• Managing effectiveness of TD team ensuring skills gaps are addressed, ensuring adherence to roles and responsibilities, and ultimately improving the customer experience
