Trade Tested Electrician (FMCG) at Futurelink Global Recruitment

Introduction

Our FMCG Client, based in the East Rand area, is looking for an experienced trade tested Electrician.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Make sure that all machinery is installed, operated, and maintained to prevent exposures of persons to Hazardous circumstances
• Make sure that every exposed and dangerous part of machinery within normal reach of a person is effectively safeguarded by mean of screening, insulation or guarding
• Make sure that all safety equipment is kept in good working order
• Safety checklists are conducted on machines
• Preventative maintenance of all electrical installations is conducted as per the schedule etc.
• Cleanliness of all electrical installations and good housekeeping practices in those electrical installations
• Ensure maximum machine availability through effective repairs & maintenance on all factory equipment. (Mechanical and Electrical)
• Machine start-up
• Attend and repair breakdowns on machines
• Quality of workmanship
• Plan repairs and maintenance to ensure maximum machine availability
• Ensure that all job cards & scheduled maintenance is completed as per relevant checklists timeously:
  • Plan and complete schedules as planned
  • Ensure that all jobs are completed and managed in time
  • Ensure that all safety checks are completed and managed in time
  • Effective utilization of machinery and report to line supervision and production management on non-conformances & deviations found:
  • Ensure that machines are operating at standard capacity
  • Ensure machine produces product to quality specifications
  • Operational non conformances must be reported to the relevant Supervisor or Manager
  • Report requirements for critical spares & equipment to reporting Manager:
  • Use machine manuals to determine critical spares requirement
  • Ensure spares are available before schedules maintenance is attempted
  • Housekeeping of workshop area, engineering stores and equipment in factory:
  • Ensure all work is carried out as per HACCP requirements
  • Follow equipment cleaning schedule as requested
  • New Projects, Commissioning involvement and Installation involvement:
  • Get involved as required by maintenance management in projects
  • Health and Safety:
  • Isolate equipment before repairing, follow lock out procedures
  • Equipment must always be safe for use
  • Ensure that your tools are safe for use
  • Ensure your personal safety
  • Follow company safety rules and regulations

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Matric
• National Diploma or N3-6 qualification will be beneficial.
• Electrical Trade Test
• At least 5 years’ experience in the FMCG industry.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Electrician
• PLC/ Robotics knowledge essential
• Hands on active approach
• Valid drivers license and own vehicle
• Happy to work standby shifts, weekends and overtime when required.
• Wireman's license (advantageous)
