    Team Leader - Support Services

    • The main purpose of this position is to supervise administrative support processes and ensure that quality administrative support services are duly provided in support of the operations of the National Payment System Department (NPSD) at the South African Reserve Bank (SARB).

    Detailed Description

    The successful candidate will be responsible for, among other things, the following key performance areas:

    • Plan and allocate work, supervise quality, and facilitate the delivery of Support Services’ outputs.
    • Lead the administration team, ensuring that administrative support services are duly provided to the Business Support Division and NPSD, including, but not limited to, correspondence, contract management, travel, records management, facilities, office supplies and internal liaison, training co- ordination and reporting.
    • Provide day-to-day general support to the Divisional Manager, including, but not limited to, diary management, travel logistics arrangements, the execution of secretarial duties, the preparation of key presentations or reports, and appropriate follow-up actions (where applicable).
    • Ensure the effective management of the requirements and resources of NPSD’s facilities, including its secondary site.
    • Perform work independently.
    • Ensure adherence to controls and that work is performed within established practices as well as given processes, rules and regulations, ensuring compliance with standards, policies and other guidelines.
    • Facilitate and supervise the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts as well as the monitoring of expenditure.
    • Facilitate the payment of suppliers/vendors according to the SARB’s processes, including, but not limited to, the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, electronic funds transfers (EFTs) and requisitions.
    • Lead and participate in stakeholder engagements (internal and external).
    • Ensure consistent and accurate reporting of relevant sectional information.
    • Fulfil the team leader function pertaining to on-the-job training and development as well as the performance of the team.
    • Diagnose problems and choose and/or modify routines to deal with them, displaying the ability to provide solutions for problems within a defined context.

    Job Requirements

    To be considered for this position, candidates must be in possession of:

    • the minimum of a three-year Diploma (NQF 6) in Administration or an equivalent qualification; and
    • the minimum of five years of experience in administration, with some supervisory experience.
