    TAX DIRECTOR

    Contribute to the creation and protection of L’Oréal's assets by advising and guiding the company's internal clients (regions, countries, business areas, etc.) in all matters concerning tax regulations within Sub Sahara Africa zone :

    • Conduct and coordinate policies and the activity of the tax managers.
    • Construct the tax strategy by anticipating, identifying, evaluating, and monitoring the tax risks and opportunities for the Sub Sahara Africa Zone
    • Lead or contribute to transversal initiatives/projects (cross-countries or cross-functional) regarding impactful tax matters (ecommerce, IT, retail…) throughout the Sub Sahara Africa Zone
    • Value and enable “best practices” throughout the Sub Sahara Africa Zone by promoting safe and innovative tax initiatives
    • Supervise the management and coordination of tax audits, tax litigations in close relation with the countries of the Sub Sahara Africa Zone and the Group Tax Department.
    • Communicate efficiently with the Internal Tax network to alert and raise awareness of tax matters relating to business projects and risks (CFOs, tax contacts within the Zone and the Group Tax Department)
    • Develop close coordination and cohesion with the Sub Sahara Africa Zone and the Group Tax department (Transfer Pricing, M&A, Customs and Reporting) for relevant tax matters
    • Develop a “tax intelligence” and monitor changes in laws / practices (expertise, technical competencies, alerts)
    • Develop an efficient professional network to collect best practices, tax alerts…and to represent the Company’s interests on tax issues when necessary
    • Lead and manage external tax providers (lawyers, advisers…)
    • Recruit, develop, and manage his/her teams to stimulate and empower people to contribute their best.

    Technical / Professional & Personal Competencies Required

    EXPERTISE IN TAX REGULATIONS AND INTERNAL STANDARDS

    • Remains continuously updated on relevant tax/customs changes
    • Knows tax/customs internal norms and standards and contributes to their evolution
    • Requests and challenges external expertise
    • Investigates and analyzes with precision tax risks and opportunities
    • Establishes and maintains an efficient professional network and leverages said network to share best practices

    • Clarifies & simplifies concepts to better meet expectations & advise properly in order to facilitate decision-making

    • Develops a close relationship with his/her clients to raise awareness and to develop good reflexes on tax/customs issues
    • Interacts effectively and works closely with the Tax community as well as other functions (CFOs, accountants, controllers, legal, IT etc.)

    • Anticipates and prevents tax risks
    • Evaluates the financial and fiscal impacts in order to have a better view of the tax / customs challenges
    • Negotiates & convinces internal actors (CFOs, Accounting, Controlling, IT, Legal ...) & external (Tax administration, lobbies, consultants ...)
    • Mobilizes internal and external actors in order to solve issues
    • Ensures effective and timely reporting to internal stakeholders: hierarchy, the Group Tax Department
    • Takes ownership of actions plans and follow-up on tax issues
