Systems Engineer - Stellenbosch at Datacentrix

Main Purpose:

• To manage and monitor all installed ICT systems and infrastructure within Mediclinic. 

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 3 years’ experience in an IT operations environment
• A current Microsoft and/or Linux qualification
• Degree in Information Systems or equivalent
• Network infrastructure, Intel based servers and Microsoft Back-office applications
• Windows Server 2008 R2 – Windows server 2019
• Strong understanding of cloud-based services and infrastructure
• Strong understanding of high availability and load balancing across different technologies
• Disaster recovery methodologies
• Performance analysis on Microsoft and Linux based servers
• Storage area networks
• Experience in the deployment implementation, managing and monitoring of Linux environments (RHEL/CENTOS/Ubunthu etc)
• Experience in design, implementation, managing and monitoring of Microsoft Active Directory in an Enterprise environment
• Experience in management of Microsoft Office365 and associated services at an advanced level
• Experience in design, implementation, managing and monitoring of Azure systems
• Experience in Exchange 2016 in a Clustered Environment
• Experience in design, implementation, managing and monitoring of Microsoft Hyper-V and VMWare High Availability Clusters
• Experience in design, implementation, managing and monitoring of Microsoft Active Directory in an Enterprise environment
• Veeam Backup and Replication technologies
• Solarwinds monitoring for Networks, Servers and Applications
• Microsoft System Centre Configuration Manager
• Experience in Terminal Services / Remote Desktop Services

Responsibilities: 

• To build, resolve issues, manage and monitor Infrastructure and Operations services within the ICT engineering environment including cloud based services
• To manage and mitigate ICT risks within Mediclinic, including backup and recovery jobs and processes
• To ensure process and system improvement within ICT engineering environment
• To update and maintain Support Procedures within the ICT engineering environment
• To manage stakeholder relations and client service within ICT
• To manage incidents and request tickets acording to service level agreement.
• To collaborate with Mediclinic staff, Corporate Project Office, ICT Department and Operations, Suppliers and Third Parties
