    Sustainability Graduate

    Main purpose of the role

    • We are seeking a motivated and proactive Sustainability Graduate to support our sustainability initiatives within our organization. The Sustainability Graduate is responsible for supporting the acceleration and deployment of the SAF Sustainability strategy. The ideal candidate will support the Sustainability Team by assisting in identifying and implementing sustainability projects, strategies, and practices that will minimize our company's carbon footprint, and foster environmental stewardship.

    Essential responsibilities and duties
    As a Sustainability Graduate your main responsibilities are as follow: 

    • Being a key representative for Forvia’s sustainability roadmap within the organization
    • Conduct research, data analysis, and report on sustainability opportunities within our company
    • Lead the development, implementation and monitoring of sustainability projects and practices
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to raise awareness and educate employees on the importance of sustainability initiatives and promote participation
    • Ensure the link between FCM and the Sustainability group (Environment, CSR, HSE, CO2, Diversity & Inclusion)
    • Manage the Sustainability communication (webinars, workshops, Live Events…) through the appropriate communication channels
    • Coordinate and participate in the implementation of sustainable initiatives (e.g., waste reduction, energy and water conservation, green procurement, etc.)
    • Support Pilot programs with OEM’s dedicated to decarbonization (Scope 1 -3)
    • Drive and collaborate with purchasing and logistic departments on scope 3 emissions reduction initiatives
    • Possible travels – scope is throughout the 4 plants in South Africa (Cape Town, Port Elizabeth, Uitenhage, Pretoria)
    • Assist in controlling the associated set budgets

    Your profile and competencies to succeed

    • Education: Degree or equivalent qualification in Environmental Science / related field and/or business related qualification. A specialisation in Sustainability would be advantageous.

    Knowledge and experience: 

    • Proven experience in sustainability initiatives and/or projects would be advantageous
    • Knowledgeable on CSR topics: Environment, CO2 neutrality, People diversity, Business ethics, community management
    • Strong interest in sustainability in an industrial field
    • Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities
    • Strong organizational skills, project management and reporting
    • Sense of technical
    • Self-driven and innovative
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to collaborate with internal & external stakeholders and build effective relationships
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (esp. Excel, PowerPoint) and data analysis
    • Languages: English and at least one additional language
