Job Description
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

• To arrange, supervise and/or attend to and report on Minerals operational matters in accordance with. Standard Operating Procedures, International Standards, Company Code of Ethics and the mandate given by the Principal. Also to assist in the implementation and maintenance of a Quality Management System.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Attend to all aspects of operational matters related to the work in progress
• Ensure adherence to International Standards
• Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures
• Ensure adherence to the Company Code of Ethics
• Ensure adherence to the Quality Management System
• Liaison with clients and/or direct superiors regarding progress and/or non-conformance
• Ensure maintenance of work files in conjunction with the divisional admin department
• Ensure prompt and accurate certification of jobs completed
• Co-ordinate the daily operational deployment and activities of commercial inspectors in conjunction with the branch manager
• Assist in the training, coaching and counseling of full-time employees, sub contractors and part time employees in conjunction with the branch manager to ensure continuity of competencies to underpin the growth strategies
• Ensure that all SGS equipment is respected and maintained in good working order
• Adhere to all quality and safety requirements of the SGS management system
• Perform any other reasonable tasks as assigned by direct line manager.
   

SPECIFIC AUTHORITIES

• Cease the use of any equipment that may be deemed to constitute a safety hazard or enter hazardous environment without the necessary knowledge and protection and report the situation to higher authority to action.
• Cease to carry on with work that may affect the quality (integrity) of services and report the situations to higher authority to take action.
• Initiate a formal improvement request when a deviation of the system occurs, possible improvements are identified or when nonconformity is identified.
   

Qualifications
Education

• Minimum Grade 12 (Matric)
• Sampling procedure knowledge of minerals
• Languages: Proficiency in English (Read, Write, Speak)
• Any other languages an added advantage
• Drivers license
• Computer literacy (Minimum Word and Excel)

Experience

• Minimum of 4 years Inspection experience
• Management/Supervising of operational staff background
