Specialist: Security Vetting at Transnet

Position Purpose

• To conduct vetting investigations, make recommendations on a subject’s security competence by identifying possible security threats and liaise with internal and external stakeholders

Position Outputs

• Conduct background checks and verifications on all prospective employees.
• Collate and analyse checks
• Evaluate and make recommendations on whether to use or not to us a shortlisted candidate
• Conduct vetting investigations
• Provide inputs for the development and implementation of policies, guidelines, norms & standards in vetting investigations.
• Administer vetting files and reports.
• Partake in task teams dealing with matters relating to vetting projects/processes.
• Render administrative support services

Qualifications and Experience

• B Degree (NQF 7) in Political Science, Social Science, Economics, Journalism, Law
• Completion of a vetting investigations course as offered by SANDF/SSA/SAPS
• 5 years’ experience operational experience in vetting investigations
