    Senior Manager: Organisation Strategy and Performance Management

    Mission/ Core purpose of the Job
    Senior Manager: Organization, Strategy and Performance leads the strategy formulation, custodianship, and enablement of the following portfolios globally:

    • HR Strategy and Analytics
    • HR Planning, Budgeting, Reporting and Data
    • People Performance
    • Organization Architecture & design

    The SM is responsible to drive continuous innovation, global collaboration and deep cross-working relationships with other functional areas in HR to effectively design globally relevant solutions and insights for Finco.

    Key Performance Areas: Core, essential responsibilities / outputs of the position (KPA's)
    Key Deliverables

    • The Senior Manager: Organization Strategy & Performance Management will be accountable to achieve the following objectives:
    • Strategy Development, Formulation, and Implementation
    • Establish, monitor, and align the direction, strategy, and results of the Organization Strategy & Performance Management vertical, collectively and as individual work areas
    • Lead and drive an integrated global solution development and problem-solving philosophy
    • Monitor true-value metrics to measure the impact and benefit of the function . Drive continuous improvement across all sub function verticals

    Operational Delivery

    • Strategy & Analytics, Budgeting, Data and Reporting
    • Lead the Human Resources strategy, keeping cognizance of Finco’s strategic priorities
    • Lead, control, and establish governance to manage the consolidated Group Finco HR strategy, budgets, and financials, in conjunction with Group Finco HR Leadership Group
    • Custodian of strategic HR performance to ensure HR teams across Finco and its Opcos are standardized, accountable and empowered to operate as a high performing result-oriented function
    • Cascade and align the Group Finco HR strategy, budget, analytics and reporting framework and plan with Opco
    • Develop appropriate frameworks, digital technologies and enablers to empower Finco HR Practitioners globally, to deploy result-driven strategies
    • Lead and cascade the Organization-wide HR Data Strategy, Policy and related technologies

    Organization Architecture

    • Custodian and controller of the following Organization Architecture elements across Finco and its Opcos

    Operating Model

    • Organization Design standards, frameworks, policy, and process
    • Organization Competency framework
    • Organization Job Architecture and Evaluations
    • Lead and drive Opco HR Executive alignment to the global architecture metrics to ensure global adherence to standards

    In conjunction with GM: HR, review:

    • Business cases for changes in Functional Blueprints / Operating model
    • Review business case for new L3H and above positions requested at Group or Opcos
    • Other requests within the authorization limits of the policy and DoA
    • Promote and drive integration of the Organization Organization Architecture with MTN Group Organization Architecture team, where applicable
    • Define Organisation Design guard rails for Opco Finco. Assist and provide input to large organisation design initiatives in Opco Finco
    • Design of Job Descriptions for Group Finco based on Operating Model and Organization structure changes
    • Monitor alignment of Opco Organization Structures and Operating Models in line with Group Finco defined organization blueprints

    Global Performance Management

    • Custodian and owner for Finco’s global performance management framework, principles, policy and process to ensure it is aligned to MTN’s strategic vision and priorities
    • Responsible for governance and continuous improvement of performance management policies and processes in line with Group MTN performance management processes and polices, where applicable
    • Promote and drive integration of the performance management framework with MTN Group Performance frameworks, where applicable
    • Cascade Performance management guidelines, principles, templates and critical cycles across Opcos for global alignment and standardisation
    • Design and implement standardized global libraries for goals and KPIs. Ensure alignment to the business plan, strategy and budget by actively collaborating with the respective functional Leaders
    • Collaborate with various functional leaders to define and gain sponsorship for the desired performance objectives, goals, KPIs for the Group and Opcos
    • Ensure integration of MTN’s EVP and Finco Rewards frameworks with the Performance Framework in all Finco Opcos
    • Responsible for management, execution and validation of Executive Bonus Agreements and their results

    Job Requirements (Education, Experience and Competencies)
    Education:

    • Minimum of 4 year tertiary degree (specialization in Commerce / Finance / Human Resources / Behavioural Sciences and/or equivalent)
    • MBA or Masters (advantageous)
    • Relevant certification / accreditation / membership with professional body relevant to performance management/KPI design /Metrics and Measurements/ related areas (advantageous)
    • Relevant certification / accreditation / membership with professional body relevant to Organization Architecture & Design, Competency Modelling etc.(Advantageous)

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 7 years of experience in organization design and/or performance management for a global company
    • 3-4 years’ experience in Organization Architecture & Operating Model design and KPI design & management  with a solid track record of senior and strategic management experience in the Fintech/ Financial Services industry
    • 3-4 years of managerial experience
    • Knowledge and understanding of the Fintech, Payments, E-commerce business ecosystem
    • Deep understanding of core and technical Fintech related competencies in line with Agile and Scrum frameworks & methodologies
    • Worked across diverse cultures and geographies
    • Experience working in a medium to large organization
    • A track record of creating innovative and measurable solutions to business challenge
    • Experience in operating centers of excellence (preferred)
    • Project management experience
    • Pan Africa multi-cultural experience
