Senior Instrument Assistant (M Hay Band) at Rand Water

Job Advert Summary    

• To ensure that metering & online instrument Systems function uninterrupted, displaying real time, accurate water quality status for management information and decision making

Minimum Requirements    

• National Senior Certificate (Grade12)
• National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (light current/process and instrumentation)
• Process Instrumentation Trade Test will serve as an advantage
• 2 years Metering/Online Instrument experience
• Basic PLC programming SCADA systems and networks
• Valid drivers license

Primary Duties    

• Maintain reliable information for operational purpose and consistent customer satisfaction
• Coordination of projects with a drive to improve water quality within a project constraints
• Ability to solve metering/online problems quickly and effectively to minimise system downtime and possible discrepancies in water quality information
• To assist with the procurement of reliable equipment & spares
• Responsible for maintaining metering and online instruments equipment effectively
• Take technical decisions relating to metering and online instrument maintenance with the consultation of specialists

Knowledge    

• Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations
• Preferred knowledge of ISO standards
• Reasonable Online/Metring Instrument equipment selection
