    Section Manager SHE Utilities Department

    Role Purpose:

    • We are seeking Utilities Manager assume primary responsibility to meet the Company’s objectives by ensuring the effective functioning of the Utilities Maintenance Department. This role plays a crucial part in providing plant availability to facilitate the production of vehicles at a high-quality standard and in a cost-effective manner

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Supervise and guide maintenance technicians.
    • Identify and address risks in the utilities infrastructure.
    • Collaborate with the municipality to resolve utility issues.
    • Manage and allocate budgets for maintenance and projects.
    • Develop and maintain a maintenance schedule for utility systems.
    • Collaborate with procurement for effective spare parts management.
    • Utilize project management skills to oversee the execution of technical projects.
    • Provide technical support for utility systems and implement technology advancements.
    • Enforce safety protocols and conduct regular safety training for maintenance personnel.
    • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and generate reports on key metrics.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Minimum NQF level 7 in Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current).
    • +3 years leadership experience is essential.
    • 5+ years of experience in plant manufacturing maintenance.
    • Substation maintenance (up to 11,000 Vac) is required.

    Skills:

    • Technical Expertise in Electrical Engineering: Proficient knowledge of utility systems, including air compressors and substation maintenance, with a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles.
    • Project Management: Ability to manage and execute technical projects from planning to completion, including budgeting, resource allocation, and timeline management.
    • Leadership and Team Management: Experience in supervising and guiding maintenance technicians, fostering a collaborative and productive team environment.
    • Safety Compliance and Protocols: In-depth understanding of safety standards and the ability to enforce protocols, conduct training, and ensure compliance with regulations.
    • Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: Strong analytical skills to identify issues, assess risks, and implement effective solutions, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
