    Regional Human Capital Business Partner (Western Cape)

    • The Regional HCBP will be required to facilitate the delivery of the company’s strategic HR priorities by developing, enacting, and monitoring human resources initiatives and programs within the regional scope to ensure that they are aligned with our business objectives. The incumbent will be required to deliver professional HR advise and support to business, create partnerships and collaborate with business, balancing a direct oversight of HR efforts across talent acquisition, talent management, engagement, employee relations and providing the necessary tools to ensure that employees are adequately skilled to perform their roles and can meet future business requirements.

    Regional Human Capital Business Partner Job Duties:

    • Adhere to agreed Recruitment and Selection policies, procedures, and standards.
    • Identify staffing needs and implement procedures to ensure that the required numbers and types of staff are recruited within the agreed time.
    • Ensure achievement of Employment Equity goals
    • Development of a succession plan and execution thereof
    • Quality assure employee documentation relating to new engagements, changes in status and terminations.
    • Train and advise managers on correct salary budgets, staffing, documentation, and procedure.
    • Ensure timely submission of documents to the payroll and employee benefit department.
    • Monitor and take corrective action on all out of line staff costs (e.g., salaries, overtime, fixed terms, average hours etc.).
    • Manage Turnover reduction in line with LTO Targets
    • Arrange and facilitate panel interviews as and when required.
    • Advise, coach and counsel line managers on how to prepare performance improvement plans. Formulate concrete and specific measurable actions to help them resolve issues, increase effectiveness in order to achieve business goals.
    • Ensure all employees have performance agreements in place.
    • Facilitate and implement Head office training plans with the L&D team.
    • Make recommendations to the L&D team regarding improvements or changes to such things as needs analysis generation, training delivery, assessment, optimizing use of IT systems for training delivery, records management, etc.
    • Ensure all new employees are inducted / on boarded according to the required standard. Ensure that all new, transferred and promoted appointees are properly trained on the job and are assessed as competent.
    • Anticipate and respond to employee relations, concerns, identify problem areas and work with line managers to take specific actions to mitigate risks.
    • Consult with line management regarding grievance, disciplinary, appeals and CCMA hearing outcomes to ensure consistency and best possible outcomes and monitor trends .
    • Ensure the correct formulation of preferred disciplinary charges.
    • Liaise closely with the Head HCBP/Chief of Human Capital regarding problematic cases, expected or actual restructuring /operational requirements, potential industrial conflict/work stoppages/strikes, group grievances, etc.
    • Prepare cases and consult with Head HCBP/Chief of Human Capital regarding CCMA and Labour Court matters as applicable.
    • Attend and present the business at the CCMA.
    • Ensure timeous reporting of HR relating activities and key metrics
    • Support employees with employee wellness related queries

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum HR degree or similar field.

    Experience and Knowledge of:

    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience human resources relevant experience in retail/manufacturing or the hospitality industry
    • In depth knowledge of labour laws and policies that define and govern HR matters
    • Proven experience in industrial relations including CCMA

    Skills:

    • Strong understanding of LRA, BCEA, Skills Development Act, Employment Equity Act
    • Understanding of business operations
    • Excellent Negotiation skills
    • Networking ability
    • Sound understanding of organizational and cultural transformation frameworks
    • Ability to translate strategic direction into business plans
    • In-depth knowledge and understanding of relevant company policies, processes and procedures
