Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent

Experience

• 2 year demonstrated experience in handling of packaged raw material and preparation of Oxidiser and fuel batches
• 2 year demonstrated experience in production plant

Advantageous:

• 1 year demonstrated experience in explosives production

Duties

• To offload and accurately prepare raw material for the manufacturing of cartridge explosives safely & timeously.
• To ensure a manufacturing efficiency of 85% of design capacity is reached thus ensuring profitability and business sustainability by accuratedetermination of raw material quantity on receipt, ensuring material availability, storage and quality of received goods.
• To ensure accurate and safe sampling of materials and determination of fudge-point as well as pH when preparing raw materials.
• To ensure accurate interpretation of raw materials acceptance when accepting them into stock for storage and manufacturing.
• To ensure adherence to legal requirements and licencing conditions.
• To ensure accurate and timeous completion of relevant documentation i.e. delivery notes and Safety data sheets.
• To ensure optimal business functioning and business sustainability through adherence to processing and quality parameters.
• Understanding and respond to process and equipment upset or changes when necessary.
• Ensuring that vehicles are only operated when in a good state of repair and pre-trip inspection schedules are completed accurately and responsibly.
• Adhering to safety standard and procedure.
