    Psychologist: Facility Policy and Professional Services (Kraaifontein)

    Minimum Requirements    

    Qualifications:

    • Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the Health Professional Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Clinical Psychologist.

    Experience:

    • Grade 1: None after registration with the HPCSA as a Psychologist in respect of RSA qualified employees who performed Community Service, as required in South Africa; or a minimum of 1-year relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA as Psychologist in respect of foreign qualified employees, of whom is not required to perform Community Service, as required in South Africa. Grade 2: A minimum of 8 years’ relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA as a Psychologist in respect of RSA qualified employees who performed Community Service, as required in South Africa; or a minimum of 9 years’ relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA as Psychologist in respect of foreign qualified employees, of whom is not required to perform Community Service, as required in South Africa. Grade 3: A minimum of 16 years’ relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA as a Psychologist in respect of RSA qualified employees who performed Community Service, as required in South Africa; or a minimum of 17 years’ relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA as Psychologist in respect of foreign qualified employees, of whom is not required to perform Community Service, as required in South Africa.

    Key Performance Areas    

    • Performing psychological assessment to conceptualise, diagnose, plan and monitor therepeutic processes; Develop theoretical and eliological formulations; Research, Policy Development and Programme Design; Training and supervision; Administration. 

    Competencies    

    • Knowledge of the following: Code of professional ethics of the HPCSA and the Professional Board for Psychology; Key elements of policies, frameworks, norms and standards on organisational performance; Mentoring and coaching practices; Project management; Research methods/statistics;  Skills: Communication (written and verbal); Proven computer literacy in MS Office (MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook); Facilitation and presentation; Conflict resolution; Planning and organising; Report writing; Numeracy and problem solving; Coping with pressure and setbacks.
