    Professor/Associate Professor in Human Movement Sciences

    Minimum Requirements: 

    • A relevant Doctoral Degree
    • At least 9 years’ experience in higher education
    • Professional registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa in the category of Sport Psychology
    • Extensive undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research experience in Sport Psychology
    • A track record of international and national accredited research publications commensurate with the academic rank of Professor
    • Postgraduate supervision experience including successful Doctoral supervision commensurate with the academic rank of Professor.
    • Evidence of successful national and international fundraising for research.
    • Recognition as an established scholar in a chosen area of research (e.g., NRF rating, international keynote addresses/ plenary lectures).

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide academic leadership in research; curriculum design, development, and implementation.
    • Teach undergraduate and postgraduate modules.
    • Meet research publication requirements for the academic rank of professor.
    • Secure external research grants and establish research programs.
    • Supervise all levels of postgraduate students and host post-doctoral fellows.
    • Establish institutional, national and international collaborations.
    • Provide academic leadership and contribute to mentorship of academic staff.
    • Participate in community engagement integrated with teaching and/or research.
    • Contribute to University service and participate in administrative duties at departmental, faculty and university levels.

    ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR IN HUMAN MOVEMENT SCIENCE

    • Professional registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa in the category of Sport Psychology
    • Extensive undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research experience in Sport Psychology

    • Postgraduate supervision experience including successful Masters and/or Doctoral supervision commensurate with the academic rank of Associate Professor
