    Production Coordinator Post Taphole

    PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    • Assist the Production Supervisor in shift management and safe execution of all production work by ensuring availability and coordinating resources to efficiently produce charge chrome.

    SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT, RISK, QUALITY AND COMMUNITY

    • Comply with SHEQ requirements as per SHEQ Toolbox
    • Utilise the Information Management System (IMS) to initiate and log SHEQ related matters including PTOs, SBOs, and near misses.
    • Monitor and ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions
    • Adherence to health, safety, environment, and risk policies and procedures
    • Issue permit to work and do task-based risk assessment
    • Ensure Tappers effectively use the heat stress controls to prevent dehydration
    • Assist in monitoring and controlling of PPE condition by inspection and updating of register, especially CO monitors
    • Take control of immediate emergency and give guidance according to emergency plan when required

    CUSTOMERS

    • Understand and adhere to internal Customer requirements but not limited to product specifications

    BUSINESS PROCESSES

    Co-ordinate production processes:

    • Assist Production Supervisor on shift
    • Assist in conduct training on shift team members
    • Audit log sheets for compliance and quality of information
    • Assist in managing the lifting equipment for the shift including slings and harnesses
    • Assist in process monitoring and control
    • Assist in shutdown resource allocation and execution
    • Ensure quality compliance on raw material
    • Understand and explain actual performance vs KPI targets to shift members
    • Update and display shift performance vs KPIs
    • Oversee tap floor activities
    • Form part of the tapping team when required

    Material Handling and processing:

    • Assisting Production Supervisor to meet shift requirements

    Process Reliability:

    • Participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) incident investigations and implement RCFA findings
    • Analyse and interpret production results
    • Participate in process trials

    Electrode Management:

    • Effectively manage and co-ordinate production consumables through stock management and following the procurement process
    • Arrange and procure material and services on an ad-hoc basis
    • Load electrode paste when required

    Maintenance:

    • Create notifications for maintenance work regarding deviations on all auxiliary equipment (for example mud gun, cranes etc.)
    • Co-ordinate the execution of planned and unplanned shutdown and first-line maintenance activities by effectively arranging and prioritizing resources and assessing the associated risk
    • Assist with First Line Maintenance tasks

    Reporting:

    • Report plant status and equipment/process defects/deviations by updating the Production Management System, conducting routine inspections, providing feedback reports and following the shift handover process
    • Updating Shift/ Production reports

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Relevant N3 Certificate (Internal candidates)
    • Relevant N6 Certificate (External candidates)
    • 3 years’ relevant experience
